Thanks to a generous $5.3M+ grant from National Science Foundation (NSF) for cybersecurity research, education, and training, allocated over the next five years, Norwich will be able to offer scholarships to students that will enhance learning and research opportunities into cybersecurity threats, artificial intelligence, and machine learning through an integrated B.S./M.S. program. “The grant will give scholars additional professional development opportunities and will enable the completion of research projects in new areas of cybersecurity,” stated Dr. Huw Read, Director of the Center for Cybersecurity and Forensics Education Research (CyFER). “As future Cyber leaders, they will also develop and lead outreach endeavors by sharing their knowledge with the public. The NSF recognizes Norwich’s leadership in cybersecurity education and contribution to the United States government workforce by awarding this highly competitive grant. With scholars entering an integrated 4+1 program at Norwich, graduates will emerge with a master’s degree tailored to modern challenges surrounding artificial intelligence and machine learning.” The National Science Foundation stated, “In the modern era of heightened connectivity, addressing cyber threats is paramount. Norwich University aligns with the national goal of cultivating top-tier scholars and leaders in cybersecurity in government organizations.” With this grant, the National Science Foundation has reinforced Norwich’s position as a leader in cybersecurity education.
