Today, I received news for a position I was hoping to get. Unfortunately, I once again didn't get the position. Although, I've unlocked another feedback achievement! I'm now officially an "overqualified" candidate. Feedback below: "Sandy provided all positive things and mentioned that if any other teams were hiring for these roles, she would love to speak to you again. Unfortunately, at this time, her needs are very basic CMS management and content work, so she feels you might be a bit overqualified. But if any other positions come out, she would highly recommend you for Disney overall!" I'm not sure what to think about this one, so instead I'm going to use this opportunity to promote myself. If you are in need of a seasoned product or project manager with a tool belt loaded with successful experiences, look no further - you've found him! I'm OVERQUALIFIED ;) #interview #feedback #jobhunt #projectmanager #productmanager

✨ Meet Ash, our business development expert extraordinaire hailing from the bustling hub of Pictureworks in Singapore! With a keen eye for opportunities and a knack for forging fruitful partnerships, Ash is your go-to person for all things growth-related! 1️⃣ : Can you share a bit about your background and what is it that you do at Pictureworks? Ash: Hey there! It's been quite the adventure – this marks my fifth year with Pictureworks. Initially, my focus was on operations integration and management. But since rejoining in June 2023, I've shifted gears to business development. 2️⃣ : What inspired you to join our team at PictureWorks? Ash: Let me whisk you away on a jaunt down memory lane. Back in my undergrad days, I was a part-time photographer with PW. There, I glimpsed the tight-knit PW family – always there for each other, no matter the curveballs life threw our way. 3️⃣ : What do you enjoy most about working in the tech industry, and how does that passion drive your work? Ash: Ah, the tech world – it's a whirlwind! Ever-changing, always exciting. Though keeping up with trends can feel like a maze, the joy of capturing and preserving memories for people worldwide makes it all worthwhile. 4️⃣ : If you could visit any place in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why? Ash: You'll likely find me prepping for a scuba dive in the majestic Galapagos, ready to plunge into the depths and rub fins with some fin-tastic sharks and maybe even some majestic whales! #pictureworksteam #employeeinterviews #holistic

A few weeks ago, I was asked to talk to the current Sony Music intern class about my career and the topic “professional emails”. We went back to basics! Some of the highlights : - Knowing when to send an email vs a Teams message - Setting a professional email signature - Deciding if a topic needs a call instead of an email to sort out - Using approved logos - Asking your supervisor how they prefer to hear from you The feedback I got on this afterwards from the interns was that they hadn’t learned this in school. Texting and DMs are how they know how to communicate and it’s been a challenge for many people to adjust to the work environment where emails are such a critical piece of the job. I love that Sony Music is setting these interns up for huge success in their careers! My takeaway from this session - have patience with new graduates and actually cover this topic in their onboarding. #sonymusic #alwayslearning Thank you Zoe Abrams for inviting me!
