🏳️🌈 Pride Month 🏳️⚧️ is a time to celebrate who we are and a reminder of the work that still needs to be done. The fight against homophobia, especially in the workplace, is far from over. I’ve personally experienced the sting of homophobia at my last job, and it's disheartening to see organizations that pride themselves on being inclusive and diverse fall short in reality! This is a stark reminder that words and policies mean nothing without genuine action and accountability. I urge everyone who faces homophobia at work to speak up. If you feel that this is affecting you, please report it as soon as you can. Don’t let it slide or wait until it's "too late to be taken into consideration," as I was told. It’s sad to think that in 2024, anyone should still experience such prejudice and that organizations are not even being investigated for it. Speak out! Your voice matters, and together, we can push for the change we deserve. Be proud of who you are. Stand up for yourself. Young people within the LGBTQIA+ community often face bullying and harassment and can feel as if they are not accepted.      This Wear it Purply Day, we’re encouraging our people, customers and communities to show their allyship and take the time to listen to the diverse experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. By learning together, we can create a more inclusive and equitable society where everyone feels safe, connected and that they belong.      How can you be an active ally? ✔ Do your research to better understand the experiences felt by the LGTBQIA+ community   ✔ Listen to LGBTQIA+ stories to discover how you can support   ✔ Amplify the voices and messages from the LGBTQIA+ community   ✔ Show up! 11 Simple Ways You can Make Your Workplace More LGBTQ Inclusive

Historically, LGBTQIA+ leaders have been at the forefront of social change, advocating for the rights and recognition of LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized groups. Figures like Harvey Milk and Marsha P. Johnson, for example, have help dismantled systemic barriers and challenged discriminatory practices, contributing to a vision for a more just and equitable world. In corporate spaces, LGBTQIA+ leaders are driving diversity and inclusion practices, championing stakeholder governance to prioritize the well-being and interests of all stakeholders, thereby ensuring that LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized groups have a genuine voice. To mark #InternationalPrideDay, we spoke with three LGBTQIA+ led #BCorps – BUDDY BUDDY, Eosis, and Mightybytes, Certified B Corp — to learn how they successfully integrate stakeholder governance into their business practices and continuously work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable system. Today marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia. This important day is observed in over 130 countries, and raises awareness and advances #LGBTQ2S+ inclusion and human rights. This date commemorates May 17, 1990, the day on which homosexuality was removed from the list of mental illnesses by the World Health Organization (WHO). Recently, Partner Adam Goldenberg was awarded the International Day of Pink #VisibilityAward for his work to advance inclusion for #2SLGBTQIA+ communities through pro bono advocacy. We are proud of leaders like Adam and all the 150 members involved in our Pride Action Group who are working to stand in solidarity and advance LGBTQ2S+ inclusion every day. The theme for #IDAHOBIT this year is “no one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all”. As we witness the devastating rise of violence, discrimination, and repression of #2SLGBTQIA+ people globally, we must work together to protect the rights of all people. Today is an opportunity to celebrate the pride and allyship of the people who have worked to build equality around the world, and to raise awareness of the discrimination LGBTQ2S+ people still face today. Whether you’re part of the #2SLGBTQIA+ community or you’re an ally – today we stand together. Through #InclusionNow we are making a concerted effort to support the #LGBTQ2S+ community and build a truly inclusive workplace and profession.
