So what is a CVC exactly?   Corporate venture capital (CVC), similar to traditional venture capital, invests in private companies building technology backed frontier products. A key differentiator from traditional venture, and as the name suggests, is that CVCs are sponsored by a corporation. The investments a CVC makes will more often than not be focused on that corporation's specific industry and expertise and will often align with its strategic goals.   Next week we will dive into the different models CVCs follow as they are as diverse as the corporations and industries they operate in.
