Meet Camila Cortés, Northstar Intern. Camila has joins us from Babson College, where she is pursuing her Master's in Business Administration. She came to us through the Commercial Real Estate Success Training (CREST) Internship program with which we are proud to partner. During the next ten weeks, Camila will work closely with our project teams at Harvard University Housing at 100 South Campus Drive on various capital improvement projects, BioMed Realty's Assembly Innovation Park's Phase I core-shell lab/office building, and for the American Campus Communities Graduate Student Housing Apartment, to gain experience as an owner's project manager. As part of her internship, Camila will be participating in site tours with our project teams on active projects, including Rafi Properties 599 Somerville ground-up development, Werfen's ground-up build-to-suit R&D project in Bedford, and Boston Children's Hospital's tenant improvement projects at 421 Park Drive and 201 Brookline Avenue. We are excited to have Camila on board and look forward to the contributions she will make during her internship. Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) Paid Summer Internship Opportunity Available for College and University Students The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), a federal-state partnership that promotes economic and community development in the 13-state Appalachian Region, is seeking applicants for paid summer 2024 internships in Washington, D.C.! The six-week internship is available to all current students and recent graduates attending a two- or four-year college or university in the Appalachian region. In alignment with ARC’s mission to help Appalachia reach socioeconomic parity with the nation, applications are encouraged from underrepresented groups including Appalachia’s 15 Historically Black Colleges and Universities, first generation students and recent graduates, and students who live in or are from economically distressed or at-risk counties in Appalachian North Carolina. In addition to being paid, ELEVATE interns receive employer-sponsored housing at a D.C. university, commuting benefits, and have educational explorations of D.C. landmarks. Selected participants will spend six weeks at ARC’s office supporting one of 10 divisions based on their career interests. Dates for each cohort are below: Cohort 1: May 27 to July 5, 2024 Cohort 2: June 24 to August 2, 2024 North Carolina is excited that our students have an opportunity to work on meaningful development projects that drive Appalachian NC – and the entire region – forward.
