As last week was #NetZero Week, we thought we would take the opportunity to be open about some facts about our companies waste, electricity and emissions. Did you know that as a company, Integra produces waste that weighs the same as one London bus? And that our building used enough electricity in the last year to power 25 UK homes for a year? In 2023, our measured emissions completed by Planet Mark the equivalent of 106 flights from London to New York – our strategic ambition as an organisation is to significantly reduce our waste and emissions over the next year and we will be making a major announcement in this regard in the coming weeks. Additionally - to help set the benchmark for UK industry progress on net zero, we have also responded to the UK Net Zero Business Census. We encourage all of our network to respond on behalf of their own organisations, to make sure that the voice of industry is heard loud and clear, particularly with the next government following the general election. Head to https://lnkd.in/emRZpgnZ to respond on behalf of your organisation and play your part. #netzeroweek #sustainability #insurance

Do you have 5 minutes to help the UK’s journey towards net zero? 🌍 https://lnkd.in/efiDJsnh If so, please consider completing the UK Net Zero Business Census, delivered by UK Business Climate Hub in partnership with Planet Mark. You don’t need a net zero policy to take part – you just need to be a UK business. By answering a few questions, you’ll help identify where more support is needed for UK businesses on the road to net zero, and inform policies for a more sustainable future. The Census is open until the 30th June 2024. PS. You might find this particularly interesting if you’re a B Lab UK or part of the Better Business Act! #NetZero #NetZeroUK #SustainableFuture

Executive Director @ Next Energy Consumer | Energ’ Ethic Podcast Host | Consultant in Policy & Thought Leadership, Public Speaker, Energy Justice Advocate | EU Climate Pact Ambassador
🇮🇹🍕🍝 The idea behind the Rete Assist webinar, organised as part of PENTREN, was to look beyond the technical and theoretical ideal of #energycommunities in the Italian context. 🕹️ Indeed, while the technical context is promising and the players are ready to take the plunge as soon as the long-awaited ministerial decree is published, as Emmanuele Maria Petruzziello pointed out, the social and cultural reality of the energy communities, despite their potential, is still underestimated. 👩🔧 They often lack diversity: as Aurore Dudka pointed out, there are still few women, few young people and few poor people among the members of the existing communities. It prevents them from dealing adequately with energy poverty. There is still too little involvement of people affected by energy poverty, and the organisations lack the knowledge or resources to tackle the challenges appropriately. 🧊 One thing is clear to me from this fascinating discussion that I had the opportunity to lead today: energy, in the "energy community", is just the tip of the iceberg. Producing and sharing energy within a community is just the pretext for creating social links, providing training and encouraging people in their projects, and creating value, particularly for young people and women in underserved areas. 👯♀️ ⚖️ At a time when climate change is increasingly becoming a social challenge, creating new reference systems that put people at the centre is fundamental. That's the meaning of #energyjustice 📹 The video of the meeting will soon be available on the Rete Assist website. In the meantime, thanks so much to Marina Varvesi, Federica Petraroli and Federica Ragazzo for your support!

The lack of infrastructure, combined with the often-high costs of superfast connectivity leads to the exclusion and isolation of individuals and whole communities. Access is not just a luxury but a fundamental requirement for individuals, companies, and governments alike. Prioritising investment in digital connectivity is crucial to ensure equitable opportunities for all individuals and communities. Read more from our Interim CEO Elizabeth Anderson
