A very happy, blessed Navratri to all who are celebrating.
Navratri, literally interpreted as “nine nights” is the most celebrated Hindu Vedic festival, devoted to Goddess Durga, who symbolises purity and power (“shakti”). The Navratri festival combines ritualistic prayers (“puja”), fasting and is accompanied by resplendent dance, music and celebrations for nine consecutive days and nights. Each incarnation of Goddess Durga is celebrated, in her different forms, showcasing to us different perspectives, virtues and strengths to introspect and to learn/imbibe from. I find this a time to be best used for inner reflection, mindfulness and introspection.
Durga means someone who has accomplished the impossible. She is the true embodiment of life, the cosmos, the be all and end all for all forms of energy in the universe. That includes the power that is hidden or inert in all of us. In modern terms, this festival is #womenempowerment and #celebratingwomen at it’s best!
So…in summary, go, unleash the power within you, your Goddess within, your inner “Shakti”!
Love and light,
Shree

Navratri, the nine nights of worship and celebration, holds a special place in our hearts and traditions. Beyond the vibrant dances and colorful attire, Navratri's importance goes deep into the core of our culture.
At its essence, Navratri is a testament to the power of the divine feminine. It's a time when we pay homage to the goddess Durga in her various forms, each representing a facet of her strength and grace. This festival symbolizes the eternal battle of good over evil, with Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura.
Navratri is also a period of self-discovery and spiritual renewal. It's an opportunity to cleanse our minds and bodies, to seek blessings, and to shed negativity from our lives. Fasting, prayer, and meditation are common practices during this time.
But Navratri isn't just about solitude and devotion; it's a celebration that unites communities and families. Through the rhythmic beats of Garba and Dandiya, we express joy and togetherness. It's a time when bonds are strengthened, and the warmth of tradition envelops us.
As we gather to dance, pray, and celebrate, let's remember that Navratri is not just a festival; it's a vibrant tapestry of our culture, a connection to our roots, and a reminder of the ever-present divine feminine energy that empowers us.
Happy Navratri!

Jai Jaganath- Lord Jagannath: A Symbol of Universal Unity
In India, lies a revered Lord known as Lord Jagannath. His name itself translates to "Lord of the Universe," reflecting his significance as a supreme god within Odia Hinduism. Here's a glimpse into his multifaceted identity:
Unity in Diversity: Unlike many Hindu deities, Jagannath transcends specific sects. He is revered as a form of Vishnu by Vaishnavites, a manifestation of Shiva by Shaivas, and even Bhairava by Tantrics. This universal appeal fosters inclusivity and a celebration of diverse interpretations of the divine.
Annual Renewal: The iconic Jagannath Temple in Puri is renowned for its Rath Yatra (Car Festival). Every year, these captivating, elaborately decorated chariots carry deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra on a journey to their aunt's abode. This festival signifies the cyclical nature of existence and the constant renewal within the universe.
Artistic Legacy: The very form of Lord Jagannath is unique. Unlike most Hindu deities depicted in stone or metal, he is carved from sacred neem wood, reflecting an ancient tradition. This practice necessitates a replacement ritual every 12-19 years, creating a cycle of artistic renewal and community engagement.
Lord Jagannath's story offers valuable insights for the Power of Inclusivity: His acceptance across sects highlights the importance of fostering respectful dialogue and understanding diverse perspectives, even in professional settings.
Celebrating Renewal: The cyclical nature of the Rath Yatra resonates with the ever-evolving business world. It's a reminder to embrace change and adaptation as key drivers of progress.
Enduring Legacy: The artistic tradition surrounding Lord Jagannath emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural heritage while being open to innovation. This balance is crucial for building a sustainable and impactful professional presence.
By understanding Lord Jagannath, we gain a deeper appreciation for India's rich cultural tapestry and its valuable lessons for navigating the complexities of the professional world.

Lord Jagannath, often referred to as the "Lord of the Universe," is a significant deity in Hinduism, particularly in the state of Odisha, India. He is a form of Lord Vishnu and is worshipped along with his siblings, Balabhadra (Balarama) and Subhadra, in the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri. Here are some key points about Lord Jagannath:
1. Jagannath Temple: The temple in Puri is one of the four major pilgrimage sites (Char Dham) for Hindus. The temple's unique architecture and the deities' distinct forms make it a major religious and cultural center.
2. Rath Yatra: One of the most famous festivals associated with Lord Jagannath is the Rath Yatra, or the Chariot Festival. During this annual event, the deities Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are placed on grand chariots and pulled through the streets of Puri by devotees. This festival attracts millions of pilgrims and tourists from around the world.
3. Iconography: Unlike typical Hindu deities, Lord Jagannath's idol has a very distinctive appearance with large round eyes and stumps for hands. The idols of Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are made of wood and are ceremoniously replaced every 12 to 19 years in an event called Navakalevara.
4. Cultural Influence: The worship of Lord Jagannath has influenced various aspects of art, culture, and literature in Odisha and beyond. The term "Juggernaut," meaning an unstoppable force, is derived from the giant chariots used in the Rath Yatra.
5. Universal Appeal: While deeply rooted in regional traditions, the worship of Lord Jagannath transcends regional boundaries. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), for instance, has popularized Jagannath worship globally, conducting Rath Yatras in many cities around the world.
Lord Jagannath symbolizes the universal nature of divinity and the idea that God is accessible to all, regardless of caste, creed, or status.

A very happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all of you! 🥟😃
For me, this Indian festival has been at the top of the list, since childhood, because of how adorable I found Lord Ganesha.
He's wonderful, isn't he? He's friendly, a big foodie, full of wisdom and always kind. What's not to love?
There's a lot of practical knowledge we can take away from this Hindu God too, even if you're not religious or have diverse faith:
🏵️ Respect everyone. Yes, everyone. Even the little guys. 🐁
We all know that Ganesha’s vehicle is a mouse. Most humans detest this animal for its tendency to steal food, lack of hygiene and so on. But it's important to remember that we can learn something from everyone, no matter who they are or what they've done. Always be respectful and humble to your fellow beings.
🏵️ Use your knowledge and power wisely. Never misuse it.
No matter how much knowledge or power you have, you should use it for the welfare of the society. It is your most powerful weapon. When you read our mythological stories, Ganesha, despite knowing so many things, never misused information.
🏵️ Accept your imperfections.
Lord Ganesha was created with a human body that has the head of an elephant. Far from perfect, wouldn't you say? This tells us that nobody is perfect and everyone has their own imperfections. Your imperfections are not weakness, embrace them within yourself and within others.
Hope you have a wonderful festival with family and friends and may Lord Ganesha bring you more wisdom and prosperity this year. 🧡🪔
