Nippon Gases UK & Ireland has stepped in to sponsor the Cleethorpes Town Under 14’s Girls Team, providing them with much-needed kits. Initially overlooked by another coach due to high numbers, the team found a new sense of identity and support through this sponsorship. Previously playing in hand-me-down kits, having their own kit and personalised awards has been transformative for the team, instilling a sense of belonging and pride. Tim Wilkins, Dry Ice Plant Manager at Nippon Gases, recently took on the role of coach midway through the season. Despite the challenges of stepping in partway through, he has been impressed by the dedication and ongoing improvement of the girls. With a full summer of training ahead, there is optimism for further growth and development. Tim expressed admiration for the team's resilience and determination, noting that their progress is a testament to both their individual character and the supportive community around them. Nippon Gases wishes Cleethorpes Town Under 14’s all the best for the upcoming season.

This summer, our focus is connecting more deeply with our employees. In this week’s edition of our summer series, we had a conversation with Charlotte Jones, the External Marketing & Communications Specialist for the UK and Ireland. Based at our Immingham office, Charlotte loves to travel and spend as much time as possible with her family during her time off. Q: What are your plans for the upcoming holidays? A: We don't have any specific plans yet, but we'll be spending a lot of time with family. Since I'm getting married in July, we might book a last-minute honeymoon. Q: Do you have any favourite summer traditions or activities? A: Our family enjoys camping, which often includes long walks with our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Scooby. If we're near water, we like to go paddleboarding. We've hiked Snowdon and Ben Nevis twice and Scafell Pike once, so we might choose a new mountain to conquer this summer. Q: Do you prefer adventurous or relaxing holidays? Why? A: I enjoy a mix of both. It's wonderful to relax by the pool with a book, but I also love exploring new places. It's great to go for a walk, bike ride, or take a bus to discover somewhere new. Q: What's the best summer holiday you've ever had, and what made it memorable? A: The best holiday I've ever had was when we bought a motorhome and travelled through Europe with our little boy. It was one adventure after another. We visited nine countries in 3 ½ months. Although our trip was cut short by COVID, we made the most of it by visiting historic sites, football grounds, and distilleries, snowboarding, ice skating, skiing, dog sledding, staying at a zoo and on top of a mountain, and indulging in local cuisines! Q: Have you ever had any unique or unusual summer holiday experiences? A: One memorable experience, though not in the summer, was spending Christmas in Gran Canaria. We hired a private catamaran, and my boyfriend of 11 ½ years proposed to me. The photo of us on the boat after the proposal shows me still in shock but very happy.

🌟This morning Dave Charlton and Charlotte Jones attended another insightful and interactive breakfast meeting at HETA focusing on industry digitalisation. 🙌 It was a great opportunity for them to share valuable insights with other companies across various industries. They delved into the development of apprentices, emphasising the crucial skills, knowledge, and behaviours shaping future businesses. 📚 Highlights included: - A preview of the new higher national programme and upcoming changes next year. - An update on electrical installation advancements. - Insights from the Local Manufacturing Advisory Service (LMAS) on Industry 4.0. 🗣 Iain Elliott, Chief Executive of HETA, opened the session, highlighting the importance of these breakfast meetings as platforms for two-way conversations that shape future provisions. He emphasised that productivity and growth are crucial for a company's future, and leveraging digital technology is key to enhancing both. However, the challenge remains in providing skilled labour, pushing HETA to incorporate more digital skills and knowledge into their curriculum to meet today's and future challenges. 🔧 They also learned about the new maintenance standard, crafted by employers and not providers, set to be introduced into the curriculum next year. This will incorporate knowledge, skills, and behaviors through innovative learning methods. 🚀 Key takeaway: Digitalisation is not daunting; it's exciting! Industry must acknowledge the past lack of investment in people and equipment. To meet future requirements, digitalisation should be embraced as an opportunity rather than viewed as a threat. #HETA #IndustryDigitalisation #FutureSkills #Apprenticeships #Industry40 #DigitalTransformation #Education #Innovation

Today is #BeerDayBritain, a perfect opportunity to celebrate the art of brewing and the beloved beverage's countless flavours and styles. Brewing beer is a meticulous process that involves various ingredients and techniques, and Nippon Gases play a crucial role in securing the supply of carbon dioxide. #CO2 is essential in brewing, contributing to beer's characteristic fizz and mouthfeel. It is added during #carbonation to create the desired bubbles and effervescence. Lighter styles like lagers typically have higher carbonation levels to create a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel, while beers such as stouts or porters have lower carbonation to enhance their smooth and creamy characteristics. In addition to its role in carbonation, CO2 is vital for preserving beer. It acts as a natural barrier, preventing oxidation and spoilage, thus keeping beer fresh and flavourful for longer. So let’s celebrate by raising a glass to Britain’s national alcoholic drink and say #CheersToBeer #carbondioxide #brewery #breweries #beverageindustry #drinksindustry
