A trick question was brought up during our all-hands this morning: Who owns GTM?  Tempted to answer CRO, CMO, CEO… but it’s all of Us in the company.  The success of our Go-To-Market doesn’t only lie in the hands of one person or one team, but in every team playing a crucial direct or indirect role, from pipeline generation to renewals. Without a product, well, Sales has nothing to sell, without Finance there is no deal negotiation, without technical support there is no renewal … not to mention the obvious direct contributions.  No groundbreaking revelation here though right? Question 1: how to create this feeling of Us? I believe through transparency on our successes and failures.   Question 2: Cool cool but how in practice? A simple trick I derived from Reforge’s “feedback river” concept.  Sharing any Closed Lost and Closed Won opportunities in Salesforce in a designated slack channel with everyone. Celebrate Your Team Today: On my way to Seattle BUT not before we celebrate some Best of the Best for Jan !!! I’m at the airport and on the way to a Microsoft event along with a few partners (More to come on that in later posts..exciting times !!!) But before I boarded I wanted to call out some individuals. Individuals that in the month of January stood out. That in itself is a tough job given the great crew I have…they set the bar high !!! (#BTE : Best Team Ever) Every month, prior to our Monthly Managers Meetings, my team shares stories based upon 3 categories which I think are self explanatory and exemplify who we are as a Sales Org -Performers -Team Work -Extra Mile I appreciate them bringing these stories forward, thanks to Brenna Farahvashi for volunteering to help me coordinate the stories and names. As a result my team (Like most groups) get to call out these people at the monthly meeting. I am going to start posting those names to show that the Best Team Ever likes to celebrate the Best !!! And upon reflection, a gentle reminder for myself and all to share the stories of success that occur within your teams….stories of success breed more stories of success they say !!! I'm filled with gratitude for the incredible experiences that shaped my career. Joining Salesforce when it was just a <$100M revenue company turned out to be one of the best decisions of my professional life. Under the guidance of industry leaders like Jim Steele, David Rudnitsky, and the visionary Marc Benioff, I learned invaluable lessons in building exceptional SaaS businesses.   Fast forward to today, and I have had the pleasure to lead extremely high performant GTM teams at companies like DocuSign, FinancialForce, Reputation, Latch, and now at Zilliant.   I stepped into the role of Chief Revenue Officer at Zilliant a few months ago, and I can't help but marvel at how the lessons from Marc Benioff's playbook continue to be my guiding light.   At Zilliant we're on a mission to elevate the importance of the entire pricing process, helping businesses adapt to all the extreme market changes that are now becoming normal. With the amazing customers we have and their incredible ROI, I can’t help but draw parallels back to those fun early days at Salesforce.   Marc taught me the essentials of creating a remarkable company and navigating its growth. I am thrilled to share that I am officially part of the 3rd Graduating Cohort of the Partnership Manager Mastermind lead by Chris Lavoie, PhD, powered by Ecosystem University & Partnership Leaders 🎓 Over the last 8 weeks, I stretched my knowledge of partnerships and partner manager strategies with an amazing group of professionals up-leveling each other by sharing experiences, working through challenging situations together, and being willing to grow even when it was uncomfortable. My key takeaways were: 🗒 What gets documented gets done. Bring your team on the journey with playbooks. 🚀 Partner tools are rocket fuel for growth, looking at you Crossbeam 😉 wish I had you at Salesforce as a PAM. 🤝 Mutual Partnership Expectations are everything. Set hard qualifications to get the most out of the right partners. 📚 Enablement is table stakes. Show your partner what good looks like and measure together. This course was an incredible learning experience, filled with valuable insights, opportunities to think about strategy rather than tactics, and collaborative efforts. I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to deepen my expertise in partner management and grow meaningful connections with my fellow classmates. It's amazing how much we've accomplished together!
