Over the past 7 years, I've been fortunate to play a direct role in Workday’s global approach to key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) solutions. First through employee volunteerism, next a short stint in employee environmental activism and wellness, then a passion-filled few years in creating hiring pathways with Opportunity Onramps, and most recently in intentionally increasing equity, inclusion and representation in our workforce. Check out the 2024 Global Impact Report with special attention to p64-68 😉 🎉 . Hats off to the incredible Workmates who made this possible!

Good morning HR Tribe ☕️🥯🌞 HR Word of the Day ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND GOVERNANCE ( ESG) ESG can be described as a set of practices (policies, procedures, metrics, etc.) that organisations implement to limit negative impact or enhance positive impact on the environment, society, and governance bodies. The three pillars of ESG are: • Environmental – this has to do with an organisation's impact on the planet( environment) • Social – this has to do with the impact an organisation has on people, including employees , customers and the community. • Governance – this has to do with how an organisation is governed. Is it governed transparently? ESG performance is commonly measured using both quantitative and qualitative indicators. These indicators may include metrics such as carbon emissions, water usage, employee turnover rates, board diversity, executive compensation, and more. As helpful as it sounds in this study data, it has a long way to go. Some of the essential points to consider is the cultural shift in the whole setup from consumers, clients, different groups of the workplace, etc. Also, how to accommodate the lost hours of the day? #worklifebalance #4dayworkweek

What if we thought about this not as a 4-day work week, but instead, 4-days work-focused + 1-day #learning focused. One global day a week to upskill, reskill, collaborate and innovate. And why couldn't that start today? It would require little policy change but instead a shift in attitudes toward learning as a critical part of any productive workforce. #learning #education #work #newwork

Today Morning I came across a video posted by World Economic Forum about 4 days working week culture and it's successful trail in USA and some other countries. My thought on how we can implement or workout this notion in India. The traditional 5-day work week is becoming increasingly outdated. In today's fast-paced world, employees are demanding more flexibility and work-life balance. A 4-day work week can offer both of these benefits, while also boosting productivity and employee morale. There are some challenges that need to be addressed before a 4-day work week can be implemented in India. For example, the country's labor laws may need to be amended to allow for longer workdays. Additionally, employers may need to invest in new technologies and work processes to make sure that work can be completed in 4 days. However, the benefits of a 4-day work week are significant, and the challenges can be overcome. I believe that India is ready for a change, and that a 4-day work week would be a positive step for the country's economy and its workforce.#wef #india #workforcemanagement #4dayworkweek #mentalhealthmatters #stressfreeliving #sdgs2030 Note: Together we can make a difference and create a more productive, happier, and healthier workforce in India.

Here are some more details about why a 4-day work week can actually help? (with my usual caveat - may not apply to some industries!). Considering the benefits, when are we going to seriously start examining / implementing this?
