Mobilizing Your Workforce for Lasting Impact 🌎 How do we ensure that a company's sustainability strategy isn't just a checkbox ❎ but ingrained in its very DNA? The answer could rely on mobilizing not just our leaders but every member of our workforce 👨🔧 👷♀️. Employees are the heartbeat of organizations, central to driving forward ESG targets and achieving robust and compliant supply chain due diligence activities. In today's regulatory landscape, diverse standards are pushing for greater transparency and emphasis on integrating sustainability into incentive schemes and remuneration policies of governance body(s). For example: 🔸 CSRD ESRS 1 requires companies to disclose information on the integration of its sustainability related performance in incentive schemes offered to members of the administrative, management and supervisory bodies; 🔸 ISSB IFRS Sustainability Standard S1 requires companies to disclose information whether and how the progress towards sustainability related targets are included in the governance body(s)’ remuneration policies; 🔸 GRI 2 (2021) requires entities to describe how the remuneration policies of the highest governance body and senior executives relate to the performance in relation to the management of the organization’s impacts on the economy, environment, and people. Yet, one company stands out for taking bold steps in this direction - the LEGO Group Lego. They understand that real change happens when every employee is empowered to contribute. 🌱 Exciting news! LEGO has recently introduced a groundbreaking initiative that has got us all inspired. Every colleague at LEGO will now have a part of their annual bonus tied to their performance in reducing #CO2emissions. This approach aligns employee incentives with the company's #sustainability objectives, fostering a culture of sustainability throughout the organization. Other companies, such as Unilever, Interface and Patagonia, have also implemented similar programs to link employee bonuses to environmental performance, demonstrating a growing trend towards integrating sustainability into corporate incentive structures.
