The Concept of Life Board of Directors When I first learnt of the concept of “Life Board of Directors”, the concept resonated with me because it emphasizes the value of seeking guidance and support from a network of trusted individuals, each contributing their unique perspectives with expertise to help navigate life’s complexities. As I advance in career and age, the topic has become even more fascinating because I have realized that the people who occupy this role in my life had tremendously contributed directly or indirectly to my growth in life, offering guidance, advice, support, and perspectives. They play roles similar as a board would play in an organization. This concept emphasizes the importance of seeking guidance and support from a diverse set of individuals who offer different perspectives and expertise across various facets of life. It’s about recognizing that no one person can provide all the advice or support needed for every situation, so assembling a team, much like a board of directors in an organization, can offer holistic guidance. The idea likely emerged as a way to encourage people to intentionally cultivate meaningful relationships that nurture self-accountability and a great opportunity to seek counsel from individuals who possess various skills and experiences. By leveraging the collective wisdom and support of these metaphorical “board members,” I have been able to navigate many life’s challenges, make informed decisions, and grow personally and professionally. As 2023 winds down, I find myself reflecting on a year rich in personal discovery. 🔹 Six Years at Hilti - A Rewarding Journey: Looking back, my six-year tenure at Hilti has truly been a transformative and enriching experience. I'm filled with gratitude for the unwavering support and myriad of opportunities that came my way during these years. The true gem of my time there? The people. Collaborating with such talented and passionate colleagues has been an absolute highlight. A huge shout-out and thanks to everyone at Hilti and those customers that I've had the pleasure of working with! 🙌 🔹 A Personal Odyssey: Post-Hilti, I embarked on a personal journey, focusing on recovery and self-exploration. There are a few key realizations during this path: Boldness in Self-Care 💪: Embracing tough decisions and prioritizing my well-being has been empowering. In difficult times, daring to take a leap can lead to profound healing and growth. The Power of 'No' ✋: Focusing more on saying no has reshaped my life. It's about making wise choices, leading to more fulfilling activities, both professionally and personally. Reassessing Beliefs 📚: 'Think Again' by Adam Grant has been a guiding star this year, encouraging me to challenge my beliefs and be open to new perspectives. Valuing Health and Family ❤️: Ultimately, health and family stand as life's cornerstones. Prioritizing these vital aspects has been my most important decision. 🔹 Optimism about the future: As I look to the future, I am filled with hope. The insights and experiences of this year have paved the way for a new chapter, one that I step into with eagerness. Here's to a future where we continuously learn and prioritize our well-being!

How did Royal Canin achieve 20 years of double-digit revenue growth, becoming the most valuable brand in its sector? One 'secret weapon' was redefining their role. Success wasn't (just) about #profit. It was about ensuring a successful #ecosystem. Profits followed. The full approach to what Mars companies have pioneered is known as 'the Economics of Mutuality'. As in, creating shared #value. Roles define #relationships. But changing relationships means changing the #story. That's why one Royal Canin exec confessed that after being promoted, she wanted to shut down some of their sales & support programs that "didn't contribute to profit", because that's what traditional business thinking tells you to do. 💰 Only these programs DID contribute to profits. In fact, they contributed to other forms of value, too. My longest adventure - an emotional ride and continuous development! Let's go back to March 11, 2019... That's when I started my amazing journey at Redcare Pharmacy (then Europa Shop Apotheke), having no idea that in five years I would be celebrating my anniversary here! Yes, it's been five years - my record tenure in one place! It's been an eventful five years - ups and downs, moments of joy and challenges. I have met hundreds of people, tying a different story to each of them. Who would have thought that an ordinary logistics worker picking orders would become a Troubleshooter, combining the ability to work with people and analytical thinking about processes? But that's not all! These five years are not just work - it's a time of intense development, self-discovery and shaping my own leadership style. Because in my case, the appetite grows as I eat - I have a lot of ambitious goals for the future! Where will I be in the next five years? We are not great at this... Celebrating wins is not something that comes super naturally to the founders. We are passionate individuals who are constantly moving fast and sometimes forget to pause, reflect, and celebrate accomplishments. That was a big takeaway for us from the Minerva offsite - and we're going to change that! So, reflecting back on a roller coaster 2023, here are some of the wins that really stood out to me. 👼 Updated our maternity policy 👶 We had a standard, generic one that was implemented when it was just the founders. As the team grew, we realized it didn't align with who we are as a company. We made it more accommodating, supportive, and inclusive. (Is it weird that this is what I'm most proud of?) 🌱 📈 We continue to grow * Double-digit QoQ ARR growth (almost triple digits!) * More than doubled our clients * Closed our Series A round 🤖 Our tech is 🏆 #winning * Lower alerting rates, with no missed true positives * 3x platform investigation volume growth (on track for 6x this year) * Half a billion records added to our data moat 🚢 * 99.8% entity resolution accuracy 🎯 So a big thank you to Minerva #team #winning #founders #celebration #koolandthegang
