Last week I published an article about the importance of building strong client relationships. On Thursday, Olivia, Matthew and I hosted lunch for 12 Law firm CFOs at The Ivy. Olivia has been working with these clients for many years and has built strong relationships as a trusted advisor.   This level of trust between clients and recruiters is rare and demonstrates the importance of building and nurturing relationships face to face.   Thank you to all the attendees for the interesting discussion and debate. 13 years ago, I completed the 3 peaks challenge climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in 24 hours. I did it with a group of amazing women, raising money for Diabetes UK in honour of my beautiful sister, Yolanda, who had very sadly passed away with diabetic related complications just a few months earlier. At different times through the challenge, I think all of us suffered moments of doubt as to if we could complete it (fortunately never all at the same time!). We supported each other, physically and mentally to achieve the challenge, which we all did within 24 hours (thanks to a sprint finish). Fast forward to Saturday, June 22nd, I was at a Taylor Swift concert with my lovely daughter. It felt like a challenge getting there and home with 90,000 other people....BUT it made me think of the moments in life that stick with you. Love her or loathe her, Taylor Swift has created something pretty special, she epitomises female empowerment. Her impact on feminism and empowerment cannot be overstated. It made me think about my own friendship and support groups and to acknowledge how important it is to have women around you who support and lift you. A BIG thank you to all you empowering women out there, keep supporting and raising each other. #FemaleEmpowerment #WomenSupportingWomen

The way we work, the way we live, the communities we build have all altered and society has become more individualised. That means the workplace has become a critical place of meaning, connection and belonging. ❌ When we feel we don’t belong at work our performance is impacted, we withdraw, and our opinion of our employer changes and not for the better. ✅ When employees feel like they belong, there’s a 56% improvement in job performance, 50% lower employee turnover and 75% fewer sick days. When we think about diversity and inclusion, we also need to think about creating a culture where everyone belongs.
