Our mission has received a massive boost! We are excited to announce the close of a £9 million series A fundraise, secured from major industry backers.
We set out to unlock the value of soil carbon restoration, for soil health and climate mitigation. This funding will help us to build faster and further afield, bringing high-integrity primary data to soil carbon projects around the world.
The investment – including two major FTSE 100 companies – is a significant endorsement of soil carbon removals as a scalable nature-based solution. For the many partners working alongside us in this sector, the news reinforces the importance and value of our ecosystem, and will be catalytic for growth.
The round was led by Shell Ventures, who have deep expertise in nature-based solutions and soil carbon measurement. Leading agricultural bank, Barclays, participated through their Sustainable Impact Capital fund, as well as specialist food system funds The Nest and Ananke, Counteract Carbon Removals VC, and global investment manager MFS Investment Management.
‘’Companies that are committed to restoring soil carbon and ensuring integrity in carbon reporting already recognise that Agricarbon is a key part of the solution. This funding round shows that leading investors understand that too.’’ Addie Pinkster, CEO Adelpha, Corporate Advisors for the deal.
For more information, the press release is available as a link in the comments.
The entire Agricarbon team would like to humbly thank the immense generosity, hard work, and deep knowledge of the community that has helped us on our path to this milestone.
