How to Make "on brand" choices 100% of the time!
If you're a business owner who's a bit scatterbrained and shoots from the hip when it comes to making choices on how to expand your product range, choosing language to use when promoting your business, or even onboarding and recruiting, then the brand pyramid could be a game-changer for you.
Grab a piece of paper and work through these levels (FYI, we are working top down just to confuse you!):
Level One - Purpose:
Ask yourself 'why'. Why did you create your business? Why are you providing the service you are? Why are you doing it the way you are? This is your purpose, your North Star! Use this to help with those tricky choices. Just ask, does it align with our purpose? If it's a yes, then crack on. If it's a no, then pop it to one side because it's just a distraction.
Level Two - Vision: The 'one day'.
Now you know your purpose, what are you going to do with it? Complete this sentence: 'One day, we will __________.' Does that feel right? If it does, this is the start of your Vision, your future goal to shoot for!
Level Three - Mission
Now you know where you're heading, you can look at the first rung on the ladder. What do you need to do now to take that first step towards your vision? Write it down and get after it!
Level Four - Values
Finally, ask what is important to your business. Is it service, creativity, quality? There are hundreds to pick from, but if you had to pick four or five that your business would forever be known for, what are they? Got them? Great, you have just created the foundation of your brand values, which can support your climb to the top!
If you can get all of this on paper, sit with it and let it marinate. While it might not be perfect, you have just taken a huge leap towards creating a solid brand core that will help you make on-brand choices each and every time.
Need a little help doing it? No problem, drop me a DM, and let's find an hour to chat!
Rock on.
