De-growthers are making it more and more expensive to make innovations where those concerns would be worked out through optimization. With effective acceleration we collectively build and iterate to work out the speed bumps and roadblocks. "This isn’t faith or simplistic optimism. What an amazing outcome for #Cohort26 we were delighted to present a total of 15 teams to pitch - who made it through to the final round: judging panel for #seedfunding and also #judgeschoice to continue on #venturegrowth opportunity with #JCUinnovation JCU Research and Innovation Services. An essential component of our simulator is the #gamification of #fundraising and developing an #entrepreneurial and #growthmindset is a critical success factor. To provide that #experience there are #mockfunds $100,000 (AUD) awarded to each team throughout the 3 days. Congratulations to Company 3: Jarred Muller Darkrai W. Blake Wang Sonam Wangmo Chirag Verma @Karma P. (JCUC and JCUB) who raised the most funds $255,500 (AUD) over the 3-day fund #accelerator. The teams were so impressive that the judges' feedback recognised the candidates' solutions as #highquality #scalable and #sustainable. In 2023, ICIC created the Michael E. Porter Research Fund to honor its founder and strengthen the foundation of financial support sustaining, informing, and transforming ICIC to create more competitive and inclusive communities. The fund, which has raised more than $1,200,000 in unrestricted contributions for ICIC’s cutting-edge research, will support the organization’s ability to pursue trailblazing research projects, create new and effective programming, and continue expanding our efforts to drive inclusive economic prosperity and close the racial wealth gap. Since 1994, the challenges facing under-resourced communities have persisted, including high unemployment, low wages, underinvestment, and systemic racism. At the same time, increasing concentration of poverty, gentrification, suburbanization of poverty, growing income inequality and income segregation, and expanded immigration have changed the face of concentrated poverty, creating new challenges for community and economic development. We'd like to extend special thanks to our partners and every member of ICIC's board of directors whose support has seeded the Fund.
