Stand with Students is off to the races! We were thrilled to kick off this year's initiative with PayPal - our Stand with Students co-sponsor - who rallied 350 NYC-based employees for their first-ever Impact Day. Volunteers filled over 3,500 new backpacks with essential school supplies for more than 3,000 NYC public school students! Following the event, PayPal Chief People Officer Isabel Cruz EVP, and New York Cares Executive Director Sapreet Kaur Saluja held a fireside chat to highlight this impactful work, showing that when people and purpose come together, we can achieve incredible things for our communities.

Venture Capital and Private Equity Scouting Mexico & LATAM. VC/PE for Fintechs, Startups, and Payments | Actively Seeking High-Impact Opportunities in México & LATAM.
PayPal has a significant presence in Latin America, offering products like online payments, money transfers, and digital credit for consumers. For businesses, it provides commercial accounts, e-commerce solutions, and risk management. Additional services include Xoom for international transfers, Braintree for advanced payment solutions, and cryptocurrency options. Challenges include low banking penetration and strong local competition, while opportunities arise from the growth of e-commerce, high remittance demand, and financial inclusion. PayPal is well-positioned to expand its impact in the region with an appropriate strategy. #AI #china #europe #business #uae #France #SouthAfrica #boston #miami #chicago #argentina #chile #colombia #uruguay #Brasil #India #vc #venturecapital #finance #newyork #SaudiArabia #uk #london #paris #abudhabi #dubai #lawyer #berlin #data #fintech #peru #payments #UnitedArabEmirates #brazil #mexico #latam #beijing #crypto #cryptocurrencies #bitcoin #Mena #management #startups #colombia #singapore #founders #taiwan

Open to Work, Software Engineer, Front-end. I worked at Paypal, Honey, TBWA. I use React, Javascript, Node. I live with two cats.
Happy Fathers' Day. #fathersday I'm only a cat dad, but I do think of my dad a lot when it comes to my career. He let me tend the register when I was way too young, but I enjoyed summing up totals and greeting customers at a small gift store. I was too young to understand the concept of loitering. Which was probably a good thing, since later on in life, I would loiter a lot of computer shops, since I didn't have a computer of my own; so often I was often confused for an employee and even helped the staff at times. But more often, I sat and learned how to use a computer. It was years later, I learned that my dad in his college days learned how to use the computers at Cal State Dominguez Hills the same way; they were just there for someone to learn. He was the one to take me to movie houses and comic shops, but not just for me; because he collected comics too and was an avid movie watcher. He carried a charisma honed from years of meeting customers; as an introvert, it looked like a superpower to talk to anyone, no matter who, with respect and interest. He inspired me, nonetheless, to learn how to network in my own way, and to keep learning. He owned several businesses, and didn't pursue software like I did, but he could have: selling products and building relationships was his calling. His last job was a banker; tending the register, and something I still am constantly fascinated with, having worked on several small e-commerce sites, researched Stripe and Square as payment solutions, even working at PayPal. It's not always clear what inspires your journey - that drive to help people and bring joy - but over time, you connect the dots. I hope whatever father figure you have in your life, is a source of inspiration, that they have made the uncertain path more confident to step. Too often, you don't realize until you have already stepped, but I'm certain they appreciate that more than anything. Tend the register.

Our Money United: It's Time to Vote with Your Economic Power The time for action is now! While it won't dismantle systemic racism overnight, it will force a reconsideration of how our communities are treated. Stand in solidarity with the black community and contribute to narrowing the wealth gap. Remember the legacy of Black Wall Street? Let's revive that spirit and ensure history doesn't repeat itself. Just as our Jewish allies support each other and have stood by our side, we now possess the technological means to bridge the wealth divide. Through FotMs Voter Wallet, the world's first conscious spending platform, we can collectively build conscious cities, one city at a time. We can utilize our technology to identify existing friends who share our values and discover new allies. By inviting like-minded merchants and citizens, we strengthen our conscious community. Mere prayers won't suffice – it's time for decisive action. Dr. King didn't solely speak of dreams; he advocated for tangible change. Let's make a meaningful impact through a combination of determined buycotts and strategic spending, all at your fingertips. Capitalism rules our world, yet it's time we remind them who is in charge. Corporate greed shall no longer lead us. We've marched, cast our votes, and now we are leveraging data for justice and exerting influence where it matters most – their bottom line. We the People," are pledging to practice conscious consumption and grow Black Wall Streets an across America. The "Black Wall Street Spending Ticker" stands as our gauge, our version of nasdaq – a real time witness as we demand transparency for every cent expended. No more pleasantries. Supporters of the movement are exposing names, spotlighting those who talk without walking the walk. Farewell to lackluster diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts; we're investing our resources in alignment with our principles. This is our rallying cry – become a friend, engage as a merchant, and commit to the conscious spending pledge that transforms the landscape. The old playbook has run its course; let's chart a new course together. Prepare for a world where every dollar, every day everywhere has impact –#ourmoneyunited #EconomicEmpowerment #mows60 #fotm.

Social Entrepreneur | HBCU Professor | I provide a support system for Black business owners that helps them grow, scale and access capital.
5 years ago, I decided that I would turn what I learned from being a “failure” in business, into a way to give back and pour into other Black business owners. After presenting a marketing lesson to a group of Black business owners and listening to their struggles in promoting their businesses, I returned home determined to craft, not just find, a remedy. That night, around midnight, the idea for a platform dedicated to promoting Black owned businesses hit me. Now, this wasn’t the first time I launched a business dedicated to supporting Black owned businesses so I was scared that just like that one, this one would flop. But within weeks, I fearfully launched the Black Business Boom brand and app. The support, the encouraging words, the growing community astounded me. That is what has carried me through these last 5 years in business. That is what has caused me to keep going when times were tough, when money ran short and even when a global pandemic hit. That is what gave me the faith to walk away from my good corporate healthcare job 3 years ago. I know this is where I am supposed to be. Yes, I get exhausted and frustrated fighting this fight. I STILL want to give up some days but I know I am living in my purpose. I have to keep going. There are people waiting for me. We made it 5 years and we are gearing up to launch a loan fund to provide funding for Black owned businesses. Wow. Here’s to five years of Black Business Boom and to our ongoing journey of growth! #anniversary #businessanniversary #business #blackowned

Exciting News! The Fearless Fund, a Black women-owned venture capital firm dedicated to empowering Black women-owned businesses, has won their first legal battle. They've recently faced a reverse discrimination lawsuit and the judge denied an injunction that would restrict the firm from funding Black women-owned businesses. At the recent NAN rally, FotM presented the Voter Wallet as a powerful tool to address the challenges to affirmative action. It's a call to action, showing how we can drive social and economic change through our spending choices. Big corporations are supporting organizations that seek to dismantle legislation designed to create a level playing field for Black communities. It's crucial to follow the money and make our voices heard. We must leverage our collective spending power, using every dollar, everyday for change. Just imagine the impact when Our Money is United! This week is Talk Money Week - which is basically our equivalent of Santa's Christmas Week! 🎄 It's one of our busiest weeks of the year, and also one of my most favourite. I'll be out and about presenting masterclasses, and spreading the talk money cheer 👋 to our amazing nudge user community. Supporting them with practical skills and knowledge so they feel empowered to talk more openly about money! 🧐 Did you know nudge users can share content with their loved ones? In doing so, they are breaking down taboos and igniting meaningful conversations about money. #talkmoneyweek #financialwellbeing #nudgeglobal #wellbeing

In February last year this smiley faced person and I went in together to meet with a tech company around our idea. They even spelt her name wrong… We sat in reception in a fancy london office lobby with just a concept of supporting people and a dream. We laughed at the new identity given and yet it was ironic, because the people we wished to serve were often left with name badges they can’t simply detach. Which remain, well after a sentence - although not visible, they define you. We haven’t yet worked out how to remove all the stigma and trauma and lift people up, but we want to give them options and empower them. TheGrowthApp Where people Help People MVP launching soon 🚀 Sarah looked at me before we took this photo and said, maybe this is someone important and they think I am a big deal? You are Dr Sarah Lewis and Kamali Stevens (FRSA) is and he will testify too on the journey it’s been… It’s about spreading smiles. It’s about spreading love. It’s about being kind. 💚 “Positive Impact is only made when the intent is pure and the endeavour relentless and the mission is bigger than yourselves.” Sid Singh Wishing you all a Monday full of motivation! #launchingsoon 🚀 #digitalsolution #beta #growth #penalreform #justice2point0
