Meet Quincy, our incredibly talented Barn Kitchen Supervisor. Quincy has been with us for almost eight years and is famous for the incredible Texas Barbecue he smokes for our Barn guests. Not only does he bring flavor to our dishes, but he also won our basketball tournament's free throw competition, boldly claiming, "and I'll win it again next year!" What does Quincy love most about his role here? "The people," he beams. "I can be myself around everyone here. Some jobs, they don't allow you to be yourself." When Quincy isn't at work, you can find him surrounded by family or playing with his two lovable pups, Chazz and the not-so-little Scrappy, weighing in at a whopping 120lbs! A sports enthusiast, Quincy's downtime is often filled with cheering on his favorite teams or shooting hoops on the court. Here's a surprising tidbit about Quincy: Did you know he used to march to the beat of a different drum, quite literally, as a baritone player in a marching band in New Orleans? True cook that he is, when we asked Quincy what two items he would want if he was stranded on a desert island, he said, "A knife and a pot!" If you want to work with great people like Quincy, check out our job postings at BenchmarkHotelDFW.com. #pghpeoplefirst #pyramidfamily #BenchmarkatDU #benchmarkhospitality

Founder Rosset Bespoke Butlers and Rosset Bespoke Butler School. "Scotland's most illustrious butler"
I would like to share with you the new service we are offering at Rosset Bespoke Butlers. Right now we are "beta testing" this in Scotland only" but if successful we will be taking it nationwide. In the hustle and bustle of the corporate world, taking a moment to appreciate your team's hard work and commitment can make a significant difference in their morale and productivity. And what better way to do that than with a delightful surprise – an afternoon tea delivered right to their desks? Picture this: your team, engrossed in their daily tasks, is suddenly greeted by a platter of freshly baked scones, dainty sandwiches, and an assortment of exquisite pastries. The aroma of freshly brewed tea fills the air, creating an ambiance of warmth and camaraderie. As they indulge in these culinary treats, a sense of relaxation and appreciation washes over them. They're no longer just employees working towards a deadline; they're valued members of a team that cares about their well-being. This simple gesture of gratitude goes a long way in fostering a positive and productive work environment. It shows your team that you recognize their efforts and that their contributions are genuinely appreciated. The shared experience of savoring the afternoon tea strengthens their bond as a team, creating a sense of unity and belonging. So, the next time you're looking for a way to express your gratitude to your team, consider the power of an afternoon tea delivery. It's a thoughtful gesture that will undoubtedly be met with smiles, satisfaction, and renewed motivation. Don't ignore the horse in the dining room 📌 Gilmore Girls is a television series from the early 2000s following the life of a single mom and her teenage daughter; it is my all time favourite series that I regularly re-watch. When I watch an episode, I often notice new things like continuity errors or people in the background. Other times, I relate differently to events depending on what is going on in my life. The work life of the characters is also something I like to think about and analyse. The main character, Lorelai, started working as a maid in an inn, worked her way up to managing it and then went on to open an inn of her own. During the last period of construction and preparation for the new inn opening, Lorelai was shocked to see one of the inn's horses in the dining room. She asked her partners and staff if they saw the horse there and they said yes, must have been there for 20 min. When she asked what they were doing about it, the inn manager said that he was doing nothing; he thought it was a horse in the dining room, sure someone was looking into it. Enter.. a life, business and work principle so simply put by this fictional business owner: If you see a horse in the inn, figure no one is doing something about it and do something about it. I love this scene and like to apply this principle in my life and work. If you spot a problem, say something or do something (whatever is appropriate). If you are in a meeting and you feel there is a disconnect or something that is not clear, ask about it. Oftentimes, the biggest most obvious disconnects or problems are overlooked because everybody thinks that someone is doing something about it. #whatIlearned #whatIwhatched #lessonslearned #donnotignoreproblems

The hostess stand now exhibits our new "Batch" logo at our newly branded Bar Lounge. The saying 'the devil's in the details' has merit. Success often lies in the meticulous attention we give to every aspect of our work. Whether it's a project, a presentation, or a simple task, paying attention to the finer points or topping off a project makes a significant difference. It's not just about getting the job done; it's about getting it done exceptionally well. Going above & beyond at Hunters Run! #huntersrun

I go to a lot of work dinners. Most of them have great food and drinks and some lively conversation but follow a typical pattern. Once in a while though (ie last night) you have an extraordinary and unforgettable work dinner with truly amazing clients (and humans) replete with cartwheels, mezcal and cheese shots, bridesmaids quotes and death metal discussions in a private dining room with photos of animals dressed as pirates and whole fish and ducks on the table 😂 (IYKYK) While I doubt there will be a work dinner quite that that one ever again, I highly recommend you think about what you can do to make your next work event more extraordinary it’s worth the extra effort. #lawyers #biglaw #businessdevelopment #relationshipbuilding

My business model gives my team autonomy early in their tenure. They must make choices without the benefit of having learned granular details, or having someone to ask. They get to realize success very early because of that autonomy. How? I share one thing with them, then work to ensure they believe it. I tell them that when they encounter a new situation we haven’t reviewed to choose whatever action elevates the guest’s experience; and that as long as they made a choice through that lens, even if there were better alternatives, I will support their action. We get only two outcomes- most commonly successes to celebrate and share with teammates- sometimes we get developmental opportunities. Either way the organization learns and grows and our legend among guests is stronger. Casey deploys his autonomy with an ownership ethos and that will grow his legend and cause more opportunity for him to lead.
~30 Minutes before we close~ Guest “I know it’s late, but I heard you were the guy to call for Catering, do you think you could feed 45 people in the next 30 minutes?” Me “Absolutely, I am always up for a challenge” And we nailed it! Running out 4 large Catering bags in a Storm was definitely the most exciting part of the night. Moral of the story is, when opportunity comes knocking, Always make a lasting impression to make the most out of it. That will be a Raving Fan for life.
