This case involves a 21-year-old patient evaluated by our team after a fall from height, resulting in a vertical shear pelvic ring injury and a posterior wall acetabular fracture. The patient underwent minimally invasive surgery combining minimal open approaches and percutaneous screw fixation techniques. A mini-open posterolateral incision was utilized for the posterior wall fracture, while only the medial window of the modified Stoppa approach was used for the pubic rami. Exploring Uncommon Ankle Anatomy: A Surgical Revelation Ever encountered a surprising anatomical finding during #surgery ? In a recent #arthroscopy ACL reconstruction Surgery, while harvesting the Peroneus Longus graft, I stumbled upon an unexpected revelation. Remarkably, this patient didn't possess just the usual two peroneus tendons, but three. What made this discovery truly captivating was the uncanny resemblance among these tendons, each with minimal muscle content and robust tendinous structure. Following surgery, a subsequent MRI of the unaffected ankle confirmed the presence of three peroneus tendons, with the rare addition of the Peroneus Quartus— documented in only about 5% of the population. In this case, we utilized very specific screw techniques, frequently employed in our clinic, which had not been previously described and are introduced for the first time in the global literature. These techniques, which we have termed the #OzturkProcedure or #OzturkScrewingTechnique, allow for the safe placement of exceptionally long and thick screws into both columns of the acetabulum. Along with this technique, we have also contributed several new terms to the global orthopedic literature, including "Both Column Fixation Corridor," "Both Column Screw," "Spoon Sign". I'm thrilled to announce that our systematic review article, "Management of Iatrogenic Medial Collateral Ligament Injury in Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty," has been published in the Archives of Bone and Joint Surgery journal. In this study, we explored different strategies for handling MCL injuries during total knee arthroplasty, aiming to improve patient outcomes. We found that the most popular management strategies for iatrogenic MCL injury were using suture anchors, staples, screws and washers, and more constrained prostheses and the proper method should be decided considering the site of the MCL injury.
