Love this. Real Impact at Scale. This initiative supports women’s safety in the workplace… who is going to protect her at home or if she doesn’t have the financial independence to work? Every step forward is something to be celebrated but there is so much more required. The The DV Collective support over 120 domestic violence services. Many of these are case workers who support women create safe exit plans, help her find safe housing, connect her with material aid, connect her with legal services to protect her and her children… everyday we hear from these services there are more and more women coming through the door or phoning and they just can not help them.. Imagine building up the courage to leave and the door is slammed in your face as they are too busy or you are put on a waitlist…YOU do not have time to wait on a list. This was my experience. Everyday we hear from case workers how they are trying to take on more women but just can’t. We need more funding to provide more case workers. If the government could increase funding for head count across Australia maybe the woman we see every day on the news may have been able to connect with the services they needed. The DV Collective collects data from domestic and family violence agencies across Australia and after housing this will be our second focus. Making sure EVERY woman in Australia can connect to a case worker to access the support she needs. #needbasedinvesting #dvcollective
We are excited! 😀 There will shortly be a Working Women’s Centre (WWC) near you…The Federal Government has provided increased funding to existing WWC’s and funding to establish a WWC in each state and territory including a national peak body. This is BIG after years and enormous effort by many- well done! Read more in the link below and the services that will be implementing this. https://lnkd.in/gK46q3KX

Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Hope for Prisoners Reentry Strategist Leadership Development Motivational Speaker Visionary Leader Influencer
When I travel across the country and people ask, “what’s the secret sauce to the success of @hopeforprisoners ?” I respond, “Hands down, it’s the unprecedented partnerships and collaborations that we’ve build up in our community!” It’s Synergy! Synergy is the concept that describes the interaction or combination of two or more elements, entities, or individuals in a way that produces an effect that is greater than the sum of their separate contributions. It emphasizes the idea that the whole is greater than the mere sum of its parts. It underscores the belief that when individuals or entities come together, combining their unique strengths and capabilities, they can achieve outcomes that surpass what would be possible in isolation. #fullcircle #closingtheloop #asONE #localchurch #lawenforcement #nevadaparolecommission #lvmpd #ndoc #nlvpd #nsp #pnp #DAoffice #districtcourt #countycommision #cityoflasvegas #privatefoundations #workforceconnections #employNV #detr #ccld #vegaschamber #latinchamber #urbanchamber #employers #theHOPEforPrisoners #homeofthecomebackkids #thisishowwedoit #theNevadaway #bringingHOPE #supportthecomebackkids www.hopeforprisoners.org

The Morse Family: Pioneers of Progress in the RCMP In 1974, thirty-two women boldly took an oath that would forever change the face of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Donna Morse (nee Burns) was one of them. Before this, women were absent from the ranks, and the expectation for women seemed limited to roles as secretaries and matrons. Donna and her colleagues demanded equal treatment during training, which shattered barriers that had long prevented women from becoming police officers. Donna's trailblazing continued when she and Ron Morse became the first married service couple in the RCMP. This union initiated changes within the force, and yet, as late as 1980 when Donna was expecting her first child, the RCMP still did not have maternity uniforms. It was a long journey to equality but one that was worth it especially because in 2017, Donna’s daughter, Sandra Morse, followed in her mother's footsteps and joined the RCMP. "My experiences underscore a crucial point – one's strengths, interests, and skills, rather than gender, determine a member's role within the RCMP" said Sandra. Donna is now the Communications Director for the RCMP Veterans’ Association. She strongly advocates for women coming forward as Veterans and sharing their unique experiences to further the ongoing progress for women beyond their service. The Veterans Health and Well-being Assessment allows women to continue to share their lived experiences and provide feedback that will help shape the future of programs and services at Veterans Affairs Canada. Women Veterans Health tip with Dr. Cyd Courchesne: Advocating for your well-being is essential. When facing challenges, taking action to discuss your health needs with a healthcare provider can be a transformative step toward improving your overall well-being.

The potential for councils to be pressured into sacrificing vital diversity programmes is deeply concerning. As the BBC reports (https://lnkd.in/e63iK59f), the Chancellor's intent could dismantle essential safety nets. Neurodiversity advocates, let's raise our voices. How can we best support councils and ensure the protection of marginalised groups? #neurodiversity #neurodiversityawareness #councilcuts #diversityfunding #marginalisedcommunities

If we witness the CM resigning and the same person taking the oath of office again within a few hours, and this has happened multiple times in the last few years, how will this inspire the youth to actively participate in politics ? The repeated resignations and rapid reappointments of a CM may weaken youth trust in the political system, potentially lowering their eagerness to actively participate in politics. This pattern may generate concerns about the effectiveness and stability of leadership, reducing the appeal of political participation for the younger generation. #BiharPolitics

In 2020, ANCOR, a public policy and advocacy organization, issued its first-ever State of America’s Direct Support Workforce Crisis survey, a set of measures provided to organizations to understand how they navigate long-term shortages of qualified direct support professionals. For the past four years, ANCOR has continued efforts to understand challenges faced by the direct support workforce. Right now, there's still a critical shortage of qualified professionals. “Investments made in the workforce have helped but it's still not enough," said Lydia Dawson, ANCOR's Director of Policy, Regulatory and Legal Analysis. The impact of the pandemic has only made things worse on Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), with temporary funding coming to an end and diminished access to case management services. According to the report, 95 percent of providers reported "moderate" or "severe" staffing shortages in the past year alone. It's clear that more funding and support are needed to address this crisis and to ensure that individuals with disabilities receive the care and support they deserve. If you are interested in joining the Grassroots committee or would like to know more about the ANCOR network, find more information here: https://lnkd.in/gCwGjVUN. #dungarvin #dungarvinway #dungarvincareers #ANCOR

As we look forward to presenting at the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) ICIC24 in Belfast, we want to point out we need to recognize the value of Family caregivers' work. Eurocarers "Carers provide over 80% of all care in Europe, with women providing approximately two-thirds of care mainly as daughters (in law) and wives/partners. Estimates suggest that the economic value of unpaid informal care in the EU – as a percentage of the overall cost of formal Long-Term Care provision – ranges from 50 to 90 %. The 10 steps towards carer-friendly societies across Europe https://lnkd.in/gEW8NTZ6
