Over the last several years, stacey and I have walked the often treacherous road of building our company, OME Gear , and bringing a product to market.
I say treacherous because based on the stats, only 6.5% of Inventions developed by Independent Inventors actually reach the market.
...Only 6.5%!!
They say that the best inventions come from necessity though, correct?
This is why we are beyond proud to introduce our newly approved 501c3 BoldSKY Foundation.
Our non-profit has grown out of 2 things:
1) Our dear friend, Sara Kindsfater-Yerkes, who was a fierce advocate for female entrepreneurs and a constant champion for us, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Almost 4 years to the day (2 years ago), after a valiant fight, she passed. We knew in our hearts of hearts we were going to do something in her honor (more on this beautiful human later), so we named it after her initials - SKY. 💙
2) We are committed to helping fill in the potholes with rocks for other women inventors and product entrepreneurs.
The female inventors we have met are strong, driven, innovative, detailed, and compassionate, and they deserve to have all the support they need.
So... BoldSKY.
We will empower them, we will open our rolodex of trusted resources, we will innovatively invest money into them (more on our investment strategy later!), we will come alongside of them, we will create events specifically for them. We will exist to serve them!!
Getting our 501c3 status is just the beginning.
But what a cool moment it is for Stace and me. 🙏
This means the tax-deductible donation button 💰 is open for all you who are passionate about helping women inventors succeed.
Our website is a work in progress but will be built out in much greater detail in the near future! https://lnkd.in/eaRrpnmR
Also, we'd be super grateful if you'd give us a follow on here - https://lnkd.in/eCkVpkqK
A huge thank you to Vince Lindenmeyer, Ph.D. for all your support and help with this! 💙 🙌
