More lawsuits against visa and Mastercard for their charging model, or rather toll, on financial transactions between consumers and retailers. They recently lost a $30bn suit in the US as small businesses claimed refunds and caps on fees. Is there an ethical issue in how they charge (% of transaction value with a minimum fee) ? Have they become so big they are really just monopolies disguising themselves as free market enterprises? Are they harming innovation in payments which could lead to new methods which are faster/cheaper//safer/more inclusive ? I’m always curious about ethical pricing models and innovation. Is there an inflection point when you become a utility and should adopt a cost + model versus a share of value model? #pricing #economics #ethicalpricing #innovation #product

Quite kettle calling pot black!!! No? LVMH of all companies - so they can increase their already obscene profit margins more. Definitely agree on cracking down on predatory pricing practices but its amazing from where the challenge comes.

The idea of them having grown so big that they have become monopolies suggests having become monopolies by merit usually preceded by reliable infrastructure, excellent service delivery and customer service. If that is the case then they are fairly charging for the value they think they provide.
