I'm speaking in 30 mins about Technology Transfer as part of an NPL event.

Presented My First paper to the Second IEEE and ACM Collaborative International Conference on Emerging Trends in Information Technology and Engineering-ic-etite 24.

It will be interesting to see if and how incoming #EUHTA #HTA Joint Clinical Assessment #JCA may reflect a similar, relatively simple assessment of quality of data submitted for evaluation. Also, how it will be publicised and presented, and whether broader awareness might shift the needle towards more, and more pragmatic but informative, data generation. Speaking as an #clinicaltrial #clinicaltrialist who sees many trials which seem attractive to enrol participants into, but comparators, endpoints and data collection plan already signal that they are primarily designed for #FDA regulatory approval, not #HTA assessment.

💡Kudos to Katrina Petersen, our Senior Researcher, for co-authoring the Paper ‘Key value indicators: A framework for values-driven next-generation ICT solutions’, recently published in Telecommunications Policy. This is the result of the work conducted within the Societal Needs and Value Creation subgroup of the Vision Working Group where PSCE is involved. The Working Group is established under the 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association (6G-IA), where PSCE is also represented in the Board. The paper highlights the new narrative in the world of #innovation where the integration of the #societal #dimension is becoming more and more prominent. Aware of the lack of a clear conceptual framework that supports #value-#driven #development, the paper aims to address this gap by proposing a Key Value Indicator (#KVI) Framework tailored to the ICT research and development sector. PSCE has been actively working with the concept of KVIs. Complementing technical performance, the aim is to bring #public #safety into focus by integrating a value-driven approach in the #technology #development process. A interesting week at Smart Grid Forums where we got to meet with and present to our industry colleagues. Lots of developments on show. AI seems to be the main area of development at the moment. DG Competition participated in the inaugural International Competition Network (ICN) Technologists Forum hosted by the Federal Trade Commission in Washington 👇 DG Competition established the role of Chief Technology Officer in 2023 supporting competition investigation across all sectors 👩 💼 👩💻 During the ICN Technologists Forum, DG Competition officials engaged in discussions regarding the opportunities presented by technological advancements for enhancing detection capabilities and improving enforcement effectiveness. 🗣 Participants shared insights into building tech offices, integrating new profiles into competition agencies, and emphasized the importance of collaboration and exchanges. 🤝 Discussions also focused on potential collaborations for common technology projects to enhance enforcement. 💡 Within the European Competition Network and international competition forums, DG Competition's Chief Technology Officer contributes to knowledge sharing and coordination on technological skills and tools. 🌐 This collaborative effort on technology offices has the ultimate goal of advancing competition enforcement practices globally.
