If your employee incentive program is directly linked to customer reviews, you could be opening the door for employees to emotionally ‘blackmail�� customers into providing higher ratings, or manipulating data, as it affects their livelihood. Of course, it’s entirely unethical, and while brands don’t condone the practice in any way, it does not mean that it is not happening! Such behaviour is likely to be experienced by customers as manipulative, even coercive, and erodes the trust that businesses work so hard to build.
