🌟 Survival Inequity 🌟 A recent study from the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) has brought to light a stark health disparity: Australians in regional areas face a 35% higher risk of mortality from lung cancer compared to their urban counterparts. This gap is attributed to the limited access to healthcare facilities, which is a significant determinant of patient survival. As professionals in the healthcare industry, we have the opportunity to drive change. It's imperative that we address this inequity by investing in remote healthcare infrastructure, expanding telehealth services, and enhancing patient transport systems to ensure that quality care is within reach for all. #lungcancer #lungcancerawareness #equity #HealthcareAccess #LCAM23 #LCSM #PatientCare #RuralHealthInitiatives
Australian patients in regional areas are 35% more likely to die than their urban counterparts. Lack of close access is a factor in this, with distance being directly related to survival. #LCAM23 #LCSM
