Goodbye emagine! More than 23 years with emagine can be seen as a long journey, but it does feel like the opposite. One can have a lengthy career and still enjoy numerous occasions to develop. I was lucky to face many opportunities and to catch them. I met remarkable people, and we jointly grew ourselves as well as the company. Thanks to all emagineers who joined and made this success story possible. emagine is a great company with solid foundations combined with a strong strategy owned by dedicated and competent people. Long life to emagine! It is now time for me to leave the emagine boat and join another crew for a new journey. It is now time for me to discover other industries, other organisations, other challenges, by advising and sharing experience to help others solve, develop and perform. An exciting journey! And for those who are interested in some lessons learned: no pain, no gain – take your chance and work hard stay focused - trust your convictions the goal is not negotiable – only the journey to reach it is stay humble – you don’t know everything (nor are you expected to) paranoia is not a disease – keep anticipating the worst case scenario

I loved engaging in a deep and deeply reflective conversation about conscious leadership together with my fellow "fire starters" Mark Milton Chris Burton Elina Viitaniemi and Katherine Tatarinov from the Geneva Innovation Movement Association. In my work with UN leaders, capital providers, and social entrepreneurs, as well as in the constant work I do on myself (we are all works in progress!), it's just become so obvious that whatever is happening in our private inner world profoundly affects how we show up in our professional leadership roles. For all of us working to achieve positive systemic change, this really matters because systems are not "out there." They are also "in here." We are not removed from them, trying to change them or shift them or whatever verb you want to use. We are systems changing. Our ways of working and ways of relating to other system actors ripple out, like energy, across the parts of the system we are connected to. To quote adrienne maree brown, "What we practice at a small scale sets the patterns for the whole system." This is why it's so essential for each of us to reflect more deeply on our unconscious trauma responses and unhealed wounds, our fears and insecurities, and our relationship with our ego. There's so much that gets in the way of acting out of our best selves in the work we do in the world. Yet the work we do in the world will only meet the fierce urgency of this moment if we are willing to do the work on ourselves. #consciousleadership #systemschange

In 2019 I heard about this SaaS startup - with an unusual name - that two brothers had founded. Curious, I read up about Joyous and knew I was destined to help them make life better for people at work. It took me a while to land a coffee date with Philip Carden but it was one of those moments where you just know this is the start of something amazing. I joined Joyous as their first product person and have since helped across every function, learning more than I could ever have imagined. Michael Carden and Philip Carden are two of the best humans I know and I feel much the same about the entire team. It’s an honour to work alongside them and the biggest compliment of my career that people of such high calibre are putting their trust in me as we forge ahead. The product we’ve built together has grown into something that I couldn’t be more proud of. One that’s truly unique. The way we use AI to help gather feedback from the frontline at scale and quickly synthesise it into action is nothing short of a miracle. I say that because the road to get here hasn’t been straightforward and it’s those tough journeys that are always the most worthwhile. Today we get to see Joyous make people’s jobs easier at some of the world’s largest organisations - based on their own ideas and expertise actually being heard. There’s just no better feeling! Seeing that also translate to huge cost savings for organisations in what might be the toughest economy of our age - well that’s just about the best icing on the cake. Here’s to the next chapter! Let’s go!
