I was asked to share some feedback on the Google courses on Coursera and how they have benefited me since their completion. I have to say that I was thrilled to know that some of my existing knowledge was still strong in things like python, SQL etc... but the one thing I want to caution potential customers on are some of the promises that Google make to sell the courses. The cyber security certification was advertised heavily on a growing number of open positions coming up in the field and how there was an urgent need to fill those roles in the coming weeks and months of the courses launch. Needless to say that this was before the bulk of tech layoffs and that none of the courses I have taken have been interesting to potential employers or helped secure a new job. If you are looking to expand a knowledge base or learn a new skill, these courses might be helpful, but if you are lured in to taking one on the promise of finding employment, you might be wasting valuable money or time on one of these. #GrowWithGoogle #coursera

Great advice here to folks looking to get into the cybersecurity field. Reflects an adage I often restate: as being able to apply mathematics is fundamental to a science career, being able to configure IT systems is fundamental to a cybersecurity career.
