June has come and gone, and as we enter into July, Pride will always be in our heart, spirit, and mind. As the posts begin to ease down, NDN Collective remains resilient and will continue to uplift, advocate, and be an accomplice for our 2SLGBTQIA+ relatives. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️🪶 It is our collective responsibility to remain vigilant and conscious to protect and defend our Queer relatives, and to commit beyond "Pride Month" by withdrawing from only acknowledging our Queer relatives once a year. 🗣️ Our Indigenous Queer relatives hold a crucial role in providing harmony, balance, and interconnection in our communities. Our Queer relatives support and hold our communities together. They are moderators and peacemakers when fem and masc relatives collide, they help mend and strengthen our relationships with love and understanding. Our Queer relatives serve our communities by teaching us that we can and we should hold space to be both a nurturer and provider. Our Queer relatives have the gift of balancing spirits. These spirits travel beyond this world into the spirit world through sacred ceremonies. Queerness is Sacred. To our Queer relatives, return to this post when you need to uplift your spirit with strength and resilience: ✨ Your Queerness is Sacred ✨ 🪶 It will never be forgotten or lost. 🪶 ✨ Your Queerness is Sacred ✨ ✊🏽 Protect and defend it at all costs. ✊🏽 #QueernessIsSacred #Queer #2SLGBTQIA+ #NDNCollective

🌍✨ Embracing Diversity on World Religion Day 2024! 🙏🌟 Today, we celebrate the beautiful tapestry of beliefs and cultures that enrich our world. It's a day dedicated to fostering understanding, respect, and unity among diverse religious traditions. 🕊️💕 As we commemorate World Religion Day, let's reflect on the values that unite us and the significance of embracing inclusivity in all aspects of our lives. Religion often serves as a cornerstone of identity and community, offering solace, guidance, and a sense of belonging. For children with disabilities, embracing religious diversity can provide them with a supportive and inclusive environment where they are valued for who they are. Inclusive religious communities play a vital role in creating spaces where children with disabilities feel welcomed, accepted, and celebrated. These communities foster a sense of belonging and support networks that extend care and understanding to individuals of all abilities. Let's take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate the efforts of religious groups and organizations across the UK that work tirelessly to create inclusive environments where children with disabilities can thrive spiritually and socially. Have you witnessed or been part of a religious community that embraces inclusivity for children with disabilities? Share your experiences, stories, or initiatives in the comments below. Together, let's celebrate diversity, promote understanding, and build a more inclusive society for all. 🌈🤝 #WorldReligionDay #InclusionMatters #UnityInDiversity #UKCommunitySpirit

Today, we join in celebrating Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history that marked the end of slavery and the beginning of a long journey towards equality and justice for all. At Reveles, we recognize the profound significance of this day and its enduring impact on our nation's ongoing pursuit of freedom, dignity, and human rights. We reflect on the struggles and sacrifices of countless individuals who courageously challenged the oppressive system of slavery, risking everything for the chance to live in freedom and dignity. Their unwavering determination and unwillingness to accept injustice continue to inspire us to this day. As we celebrate Juneteenth, we recommit ourselves to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment within our organization and society at large. We embrace diversity as a strength, recognizing that our differences enrich our perspectives and drive innovation. By cultivating a culture of mutual understanding and respect, we can work together to create a more just and equitable world for all. Let us honor the legacy of those who fought for freedom. Together, we can build a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the betterment of our communities and our world. #Juneteenth #Equality #Justice #Inclusion #Diversity #FreedomForAll #PioneeringRepresentationInDiscovery #Reveles

Today, we honor Juneteenth, a pivotal moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, were informed of their freedom, marking the true end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is more than just a day of celebration; it's a time to reflect on the struggles and resilience of those who fought for freedom and justice. It's a reminder of the progress we've made and the work still ahead in the pursuit of equality. As we commemorate this day, let's commit to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in our communities and workplaces. Let's amplify voices that have been silenced and support initiatives that promote social justice and equality for all. #juneteenth #diversity #inclusion

The month of July is Disability Pride Month and comes off the heels of LGBTQIA+ Pride Month recognized in June. As part of my position at Amazon, I am encouraged and more than happy to speak up for those who do not have a voice. Those who have been oppressed or those who live in fear of being themselves. I could go on forever about my passion for this. When I began my path in DE&I last summer, I brought up an astounding statistic to my manager while discussing community events. "Did you know more than half of the LGBTQIA+ community are visibly or invisibly disabled?" My manager was shocked to say the least. But what brought this conversation up? My disagreement to having an excuse of celebrating a person's identity, culture, religion, etc., due to a specific month. I disdain this, and believe everyone should be celebrated for who they are regardless of what time of the year it is. A person who is disabled, LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, Catholic, Muslim, etc., are not who they are for only a month. They are who they are for their entire life! This is not an opinion, it is a fact! This being said, regardless of who you are, what religion or faith you believe in, or how you identify, I CELEBRATE YOU! I AM PROUD OF YOU! If you are being treated unfairly or are feeling less worthy than others, I encourage you to KEEP GOING! No one should live in fear of being preyed upon for being who they are. Every person, month, celebration, and situation, has similarities to one another. Commonly known as Intersectionality. It can be very humbling and educational to go out and meet and speak with others who you do not normally speak with. You will be shocked to find out how many similarities you have with others just by putting your unconscious bias and opinions aside. Listen to others and learn from them. There are also many resources online you can find, simply by researching and reading. “Being an ally is “not an identity — it is a lifelong process of building relationships based on trust, consistency, and accountability with marginalized individuals and/or groups of people. Allyship is not self-defined — our work and our efforts must be recognized by the people we seek to ally ourselves with.” — Anti-Oppression Network If you are looking for a place to start, read the following article by Justine Abigail Yu who provides more incite into cultural months. #culturalheritage #celebrations #deitraining #deileaders #dei #deistrategy #limitless #bewhoyouare #amazon https://lnkd.in/egrsTVPz

Yesterday was Trans Day of Visbility. It’s so important to stand up and push back against all the rhetoric that creates a dangerous and negative environment. Trans people are consistently marginalized, scapegoated, and misunderstood. If you don’t know how to help, do the research, find a group that is helping, and put in some effort. Now more than ever, it’s important that we stand up and say that we are allies, and we support you. To all my trans friends, and those I haven’t met yet, I see you, and I support you. Today, we celebrate Juneteenth, a day of freedom and reflection. It's a time to honor the resilience of those who fought for freedom and to acknowledge the ongoing struggle for justice and equality. But Juneteenth isn't just about history; it's about shaping our future. We have the power to create change and build a more inclusive society. Let's use this day to: 📚 Educate ourselves about the history and significance of Juneteenth. 🗣️ Amplify African American voices and stories. ✊🏽 Stand in solidarity with the African American community in the fight against racism and injustice. It's also important to recognize the impact of systemic oppression on mental health. As we celebrate freedom, let's prioritize our well-being and support each other's mental health journey. Remember, you are not alone. If you're struggling, we are here to help support you. Together, we can create a brighter, more equitable future for all. #Juneteenth #Freedom #Equality #Justice #MentalHealthMatters #YouAreNotAlone
