Great article. Invest in your people and work to develop and maintain a culture that makes it hard for them to leave. Tell me about any problem in your business, and I'm sure it ties back to your people. Again, focus on your people. It increases engagement, reduces turnover, and improves customer satisfaction, all of which impact the bottom line.
Great article! These are all valid and concrete points. I'd like to add that increasing your language access makes a big difference. Offering your safety and training resources in languages other than English helps employees with limited English proficiency feel valued and included. It's also great to make any employee manuals and onboarding docs available in Spanish, for example, so Hispanic workers feel welcomed and confident.

Your first salary is a stepping stone for the rest of your career - working with an experienced recruiter can be a helpful way to ensure you are making the most of it.
“In your current role, there are likely opportunities to negotiate all around you: better pay and benefits; better work hours (including flexible arrangements); better alignment between your talents and the projects and responsibilities on your plate; better learning opportunities; and stretch assignments. The list goes on. You can negotiate to craft yourself a more fulfilling career.
To apply this lesson now, put yourself in the shoes of the person you’re negotiating with. Be clear about what you need and why you think you deserve it, but also be clear about why giving it to you will also benefit them. Just like your professors in college, the other person is probably thinking, “What’s in it for me?” If you can articulate the answer in a genuine and generous way, you’re more likely to be successful.”
