FIFA announced the calendar of 104 games for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, the United States and Mexico. Together he informed the 16 stadiums used during the tournament and their respective host cities. This will be the first World Cup organized by three countries, in 16 cities: 11 in the USA, three in Mexico and two in Canada. FIFA has separated the matches into three main areas — West, Central and East Coast — and each of the 48 teams will play the first phase within one of these regions. The teams will be divided into 12 groups in the initial phase. The two best countries in each group and the eight best third-placed countries will advance to the second phase, starting the knockout stage. The group stage will have 72 games, in all venues, and will take place between June 11th and 27th. The first part of the knockout stage will run from June 28th to July 3rd, in 14 cities. The round of 16 will take place in eight stadiums, between July 4th and 7th. The World Cup will only take place in the United States from the quarter-finals onwards. The last four game days of the group stage will feature six matches per day. All other dates in this stage of the World Cup will have four games per day. #Hospitality #GSM #WorldSoccerTournament2026 #Football #Soccer

🚀From Doubt to Victory: Changing the Game ⚡️🏟️Let's take a journey through the incredible evolution that has propelled the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ to amazing heights! From initial doubts and scepticism that cast shadows to the euphoria of witnessing stadiums buzzing with energy and tickets selling like wildfire. 💥🌎 The dynamic force of women's football has spread its wings, grabbing attention across the globe! ⛔️Before the start of the World Cup, FIFA had many problems in selling the broadcasting rights to some countries, as countries did not value the impact it would generate, mainly because the broadcasting schedules of the matches would not be more suitable for their populations. 🤔There were doubts about the potential of the venues to fill the stadiums as the sport, at that time, was not considered to be that popular. The outlook did not look good at all. 🎟️ It all started to improve when the first round of ticket sales FLIPPED and FIFA had to open another date. And by opening this one, modifications had to be made to the stadiums as the boom to attend the World Cup potentially grew. 🚀✨The only way the growth of women's Football is going is UP and it's not coming down. #FIFAWWC #WorldCup2023 #Australia2023 #WomenInSoccer #FIFAStars #SoccerGlory #HistoryMade #EpicPerformance

Leader, Builder, Mentor. I help companies scale people and tech to deliver exceptional results to clients.
So, #FIFA just announced that 2030 WC is going to be held in 6 countries across 3 continents. At first glance, that sounds really whacky, and certainly has a set of immediate objections: * lots of travel for the players / fans * difficulties for players adjusting to timezones * not very green from environmental perspective But if you unpack it a bit, it's actually not that bad. Flights from Lisbon to Casablanca surely beat flights from Toronto to Mexico City. Biggest #Football celebration of the quadrennial is coming to a few countries. Let's spread the joy. Paying respect to the location of the first World Cup is a nice touch. What's more interesting is the trend of joint bids (2026, 2030, and 2034) for these competitions and FIFA announcing the host a year ahead of schedule. #economic impact from WC can be tremendous but the cost to prepare is also high. Is the game becoming too expensive for a single country to host? I can see the joint EU bid for 2042: "24 countries (yes, I know there are 27) will host the 48 teams and ...." 😀 #WC2030 https://lnkd.in/egfHnN8W

The Women's World Cup is well underway, and as the spotlight is on women’s football it’s a chance to highlight the importance of adequate inclusive facilities at sport venues. FIFA has taken a proactive approach in ensuring that individuals with limited mobility can fully enjoy their matchday experience. By developing a comprehensive guide, FIFA aims to make stadiums more accessible and inclusive for all visitors. With accessible toilets available in all stadiums and some even equipped with Changing Places facilities, FIFA is committed to catering for all individuals whatever their needs. The FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ final was a brilliant game to watch, settled by this fantastic goal from Spain. Bronze (2) does really well to progress up the pitch, but has her passing options gradually shut off, particularly by Bonmati (6) who has Toone (10) in her cover shadow. The quick recognition of the vacant space left by Bronze (2) and Paralluelo (18) tieing the central defenders centrally, isolates a 1v1 in the wide area. Carmona's (19) overlap creates the shooting opportunity, all within that vacant right back space. These small details can decide the biggest of games. A detailed cover shadow (Bonmati), quick spacial recognition (Abelleira), holding a narrow line (Paralluelo) and a determined overlap (Carmona) are simply the difference between winning and losing. #TacticFootball #Analysis

Vice President & Head of Global Marketing Communications at leading sports business agency SPORTFIVE
The FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023 has proven to be as successful as expected. With over 2 million fans attending games throughout and millions watching from around the world, the numbers clearly show the accelerated growth the women’s game has had in the last decade. But is it really about the numbers? From my point of view the success of this World Cup is beyond numbers or commercial success. It is a symbol and hopefully another milestone within the global sports world. However, if you are into numbers here is the one fact that impressed me the most: 42% of the Australian population watched the semi-final playing Australia vs. England. This is almost half of the countries inhabitants that watched the match! #sportmarketing #sportbusiness #sportfive

Which of the four regions would you invest in if you were leading a brand sponsorship of FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico & USA ?
Marketing and Brand Strategy Consultant for Hire | Tech+Culture+Sport | ex-Nike, adidas | FIFA World Cup focus | MBA | 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇳🇱🇮🇪 | 2nd & 4th grade ⚽️ coach
What will the FIFA World Cup 2026™ - Canada, Mexico & USA look like? With the world's biggest sporting event coming to the world's biggest stage in a mere 2.5 years, I've been asked a lot about this recently in conversations with host committee, agencies and brands. Well, here is my initial projection (attached). ✅ 16 cities 🌎 48 potential countries 🤔 4 regions 🏟️ Semis and Finals stadiums With a bit of help from ESPN's test draw for the 48 nations that could qualify, I've added my hunch for where they would play plus what cities would host the knockout round matches and final. What do you think of 🇨🇦 in the EAST region, 🇺🇸 in the WEST, 🇲🇽 in the SOUTH and 🇧🇷 in the CENTRAL? 👇👇👇 Stay tuned, however, as FIFA should be releasing the 2026 #worldcup match schedule in the coming weeks/ month which will allow the dam to break free for a ton of marketing and partnership planning to finally kick off in early 2024! #roadto2026 #sportsbusiness #marketing #sportsponsorship
