Erik's mother Suzanne shared this memory of her son who was killed in action 19 years ago today: "The day at the age of 27 he broke the bell when graduating from BUD/S. He died trying to save others and his actions have influenced so many that he is still influencing others to succeed.” Today we remember Lieutenant Commander (SEAL) Erik S. Kristensen. #NavySEALFoundation
He died trying to rescue the seals in Operation Red Wings, he was on the Chinook that got shot down trying to save the four man team. RIP, was from Santa Barbara, I remember from so long ago. I remember him.
I know your son only from what I have read and watched in the movies. It’s an honor to even know him in this small way. “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/jhn.15.13.ESV
So many in our country have no concept of the courage and sacrifice it takes to keep our country free. It is with great humility that I say thank you for paying the ultimate sacrifice. RIP Warrior

2wGod Bless him and the 15 other SEALS AND other servicemen on the rescue team whose Chinook was shot down that day in an ambush in 2005. Fearless warriors called to serve and selflessly serve they did. NEVER FORGET.
