EWTGLANT hosted Vice Admiral Carlos Eduardo L'Eglise Escamilla, Deputy Chief for Operations of the General Staff, representing the Chief of General Staff of the Navy and Rear Admiral Francisco Sánchez González, Head of the Marine Infantry Unit from the Mexian Navy as part of the Secretaría de Marina (SEMAR) delegation. A key theme throughout General Berger's Commandant's Planning Guidance and Updates is that of Allies and Partners. Mexico is looking to build up their amphbious capability and capacity which could prove critical for the US against a peer advesary. A more capable Mexican Navy could assist with maritime operations in our backyard of the Caribbean Sea conducting operaitons such as MIO, HADR, or limited crisis response. This in turn could free up US Naval capabilities to be forward deployed against peer competitors. #navalintegration #EWTGLANT

This is SPARTA. The Marine Corps Integrated Training Exercise (ITX) is how the Marine Corps prepares for battle. Ensuring our Marines are not only equipped but prepared for combat is one of the most important thing leaders do. Being prepared is one of the toughest parts of being a reservist. 38 days a year (24 days of drills and 14 annual training days) is all you get as a leader within the reserves to prepare Marines. So, maximizing every minute really means something. This training exercise is not only physically grueling, it is mentally taxing. It pushes individuals to reach their maximum potential and grows them both mentally and emotionally. One of the things civilian employers may not understand is what is expected of a reservists. When a formation enters the battle field, there is no different set of expectations for reservist vs active duty. Being a good reservist leader means individuals must maximize every minute of the day, and having these leaders in your organization will pay dividends, as they will see all the opportunities. These individuals bring you the best of both worlds, they are both competent with Military leadership principals and they understand how to lead with a civilian mindset. When you see a potential candidate who is a reservist, don't shy away, but instead ask them what they bring to the table. You'll be amazed! Who will go? Dear Ukrainian Warfighters... Have you ever noticed how there are NOT TicToc videos of current or social media posts about future combat operations involving the US Army Special Forces, US Navy SEALS, USMC Strikers, 75th Ranger Regiment, Special Forces Operational Detachment Delta, 82nd Airborne Division, or any other US military operations? The reason is simple, it's a really stupid idea to share such things which the enemy is watching and taking notes. It's even considered a crime to share such nonsense and especially when it jumps the chain of command and tells 5ws about the unit and the defenders in the unit. What's more surprising is that the American General Staff is unaware that Ukrainian units regularly post these OPSEC violations on TicToc and WhatNot. So obviously the American General Staff can't suggest to Ukrainian General Staff about simple OPSEC violations and how they lead to a jackpot. Or they're timid...or maybe it's a genius plan in the manner of Sun Tzu. Maybe not.
