University of Connecticut Avery Point has released an RFEI for student housing in Groton, CT. "The University of Connecticut is seeking innovative and cost-effective solutions to the provision of student housing at UConn Avery Point, its historic waterfront campus on Long Island Sound in Groton CT, to be occupied on August 1, 2025, August 1, 2026 or August 1, 2027. The successful Respondent is anticipated to be an entrepreneurial company with a focus on community development with sufficient financing and a strong development track-record to assist the University with meeting its student housing needs." Last Friday, we toured the Naval Submarine Base New London thanks to our hosts from the Public Affairs Office, Chris Zendan and Mark Jones. Our members were able to walk through the USS Newport News and talk with some of its service members. There's nothing like a tour up front and personal with the people who eat, sleep, and work on the boat! Thank you to all of you who took time to come out and enjoy the day with us as we learned why the Submarine Force is so important to national defense and met the people who serve within it. Happy 4th!
