A new study in the journal Menopause found that postmenopausal women using semaglutide injections for weight loss experienced greater weight loss when also taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) compared to those only using semaglutide. After 12 months, more women in the HRT group lost over 5% and 10% of their body weight. Although the study was small, it highlights the importance of addressing hormonal health in postmenopausal women, as up to 70% gain weight during this period. Clinically, supporting hormonal health with bioidentical HRT has been observed to enhance the success of other interventions for weight management and disease prevention.
