I didn’t “feel ready” as an AE: Until I did this… SDRs go into their next role with little to no training. Here’s what I did to get up to speed fast in the new role. → Get independent as soon as possible. You don’t learn until you’re in the driver seat, and make mistakes. Focus on the core skillset: - Discovery. - Next steps. - Demo. - Trial. - Etc.. Learn the BASICS. Get independent, and learn as you go. → Fill in the gaps. Go back to each step. Listen to top-performers calls. Note: - How do they run discovery? - How do they manage trials? - How do they demo? Copy & Imitate. Pro Tip: Invite them to a coffee chat, seek to understand the why behind why they do things. → Annoy your manager. Send them calls to review. Be specific with the sections and time stamps. Focus on areas where you could’ve done better. Take the feedback, and implement change. The main concept is to get in a position to start making mistakes. You won’t learn everything ahead of time. Yesterday, I saw a post asking about alternatives to the "any thoughts" bump email... Here's my take.. It's now another tactic that's been added to your prospect's mental spam filter. So, how do you zig when everyone else is zagging? Make your bump emails relevant. -- Template: 'Any thoughts on this considering {{your relevant POV or observation of of you reached out in the first place}}' Example for Gong: Any thoughts on this given your focus on expanding into EMEA and hiring 3 new AEs, Joe? Example for Talkdesk: Given your CEO's focus on digitizing your teams' customer experience approach, any thoughts on my previous note? -- Help your prospect understand the relevant reason you are reaching out. If they have the problem/initiative you are talking about in your email, they will be more likely to respond. You can also use this talk track on the phone :)

Next time do a double take before hitting send to your champion ✉️ - Can we check in? ❌ - Can I have a status update? ❌ - Any update? ❌ 9 times out of 10 the medium is the message 🥺 It’s still valuable to engage stalled pipeline but ask yourself “what value can I add here?” 🤔 - I was thinking an additional case study might help us get this over the line see attached. What do you think? ✅ - I’ve lined up (Reference X) to speak to (Internal Blocker Y) should we schedule a call? ✅ A true champion will want the deal as much as you but they are busy with other things 💻 🐕 🧒 👧🏻 🏋️♂️ Be creative and try to add value instead of pestering people for updates 😎
