G.O.A.T. AND B.I.H.P. #GreatestOfAllTime: a concept that is increasingly seen when talking about #sport stars. Currently, there are some three-body-problems raging about this, one in #basketball (I have already written a post --https://lnkd.in/dCKtqdKb -- about it) regarding Jordan/Kobe/LeBron and another in masculine #tennis, regarding Federer/Nadal/Djokovic. Problem with that last one: the question is usually asked about the #goat #tennis player, and no woman is admitted into the equation, despite the numbers of Margaret Court or Martina Navratilova being incomparably bigger than those of the "Big Three". Problem with the first one: looking for an individual #goat in a #team #sport. Therefore, I'd suggest using the concept of BIHP instead of GOAT. Best In His/Her Position. Of course, there would be controversies, but most likely with less rage, anger and fists shown to the other side of the discussion table. I can act as selector/coach for #basketball and #rugby, my sports of choice: Basketball: Magic Johnson - Jordan - Larry Bird - Karl Malone - Wilt Chamberlain Rugby: Serge Blanco - Jonah Lomu - David Campese Philippe Sella - Brian O'Driscoll Dan Carter - Gareth Edwards Os du Randt - Sean Fitzpatrick - Jason Leonard Martin Johnson - John Eales Jean Pierre Rives - Richie McCaw Zinzan Brooke For me, considering all the history of the #sport, and the part that I've seen for myself, those are the best in their positions. Subject to argument, of course. And always a second-best team can be added, as reserve. Between both, it would be quite strange that the "objective" BIHP were not there.

Not Just an Innings! 🌡️ 🏏 Yesterday, I was watching the #AUSvsAFG match, and when Australia was down, I thought that I'd witness history.😅 Indeed, history was carved in stones, but not by Afghanistan; it was by Glenn Maxwell.👽 What an Innings it was? 🤯 Australia was down by 7 wickets for 91, and the target was 292. 🥷He came in, stood like a warrior, and despite his injury, he delivered a double ton in just 128 balls. #maxwell 🦸 The win predictors were showing there was only 6% of a chance for Australia🧐, but they came up from the ashes and showed us it was just a number and it couldn't determine their game. 🦅 📍There were not enough wickets. One batsman had one foot, and another was a batter-bowler, and against all the odds, the result was different.🤲 🤯He was barely standing, even though he hit 10 sixes. What a resilience despite his injury! What can we learn from this? ✅The same: even if the whole world is saying that you are a failure, you can't do it, you are not meant for it. Just don't get into it and pull yourself down. 🌟Until or unless you accept the defeat, there is always a 100% chance for victory, and no win predictor can decide your fate. 🌟Backing off seems like the best choice, but whatever the obstacles may come, just stay on course. 🤝Do what needs to be done.🤏 #maxwell #iccworldcup2023 #resilience #mindest #learningandgrowing #personalgrowth #personalbrand

Scraping the Barrel for Likes: The Downside of Social Media Addiction In our hyper-connected world, the quest for likes and social validation can often lead us down unexpected paths. Recently, I came across a post from a well-known figure with thousands of followers who traditionally shared content about the economy and politics. This time, however, they posted about a boxing fight—an unexpected and, frankly, inappropriate topic for LinkedIn. This shift highlights a significant psychological aspect of social media: the addiction to likes and the constant need for approval. When content creators feel the pressure to maintain engagement, they may end up scraping the barrel, posting anything to stay relevant, even if it deviates from their usual niche or the platform's professional standards. Boxing, a sport often perceived as lowbrow and violent, seemed an odd choice for a platform like LinkedIn, which is designed for professional networking and thought leadership. This attempt to stay in the limelight by any means necessary comes off as desperate and undermines the credibility they once had. It’s almost like watching someone who thinks they’re the next Elon Musk, but ends up looking rather pathetic. This behavior underscores a critical point in my ongoing series on social media psychology: the lengths to which individuals will go to seek social approval. As content creators, we must be mindful of the quality and appropriateness of our posts. Straying too far from our core message or the platform’s purpose can not only alienate our audience but also dilute our brand. In conclusion, while the allure of likes and shares can be strong, it's essential to stay true to our core values and the expectations of our professional communities. Let’s strive for meaningful engagement rather than transient approval. What are your thoughts on maintaining relevance without compromising on quality? #psychology #socialmedia
Usyk superstar! - 2 years older - 15 centimetres shorter (Tyson Fury is 206cms tall) - 18kg lighter He has never lost a fight, starting with the World Championships in 2011 and the Olympic Games in 2012. After turning Pro in 2013, he went smoothly through his cruiserweight matches before stunning one heavyweight giant after the other: Whiterspoon, Chisora, Joshua! and now Fury. What an inspiration for Ukraine, and for anyone willing to maximise his potential. Respect!
