National Women's History Museum’s Post

The National Women's History Museum was in New York City yesterday for a special evening in support of our organization. Graciously hosted by NWHM's NY Chair Cheri Kaufman and Kelly Stuart Graham, the evening kicked off with remarks from NWHM President and CEO Frédérique Campagne Irwin, who shared how the Museum's nearly 30 years of bringing women's stories and history across the U.S. is helping to close the gender parity gap. The evening also included powerful, moving performances by cast members from Suffs, the epic and timely Tony award-winning Broadway musical about the women's suffrage movement. Cast member Nikki M. James performed “Wait My Turn,” and Chessa Metz performed “Lucy’s Song.” Following the performance was an inspiring conversation, moderated by Cheri Kaufman, with actress, producer, and New York Times bestselling author Demi Moore. Demi spoke about the importance of young women and girls knowing the possibilities of what they can achieve. The National Women's History Museum extends our sincere gratitude to everyone who made this event possible; to all of our attendees and board members Susan Danish, Jamie Wang Coss, and Mari Snyder Johnson; and to Revel Rouge and Estée Lauder for their very generous support.
