This innate nature of emotional caregiving underscores the significance of pets as integral members of the family unit. Understanding and leveraging this emotional connection is key to resonating with Filipino consumers and establishing lasting relationships with pet owners. Pets became essential for our wellbeing. Woof makes the world a pet friendlier (and happier) place by giving pets a voice. And we do so as a way to give back to pets a bit of everything they provide us. According to a research done by the American Psychiatric Association, 86% of pet owners said their pets have a mostly positive impact on their mental health. Dog owners (87%) and cat owners (86%) were equally likely to say so, while other pet owners (62%) were less likely. A strong majority (88%) of pet owners said they consider their pets a part of their family. The poll was fielded by Morning Consult Feb. 10-12, 2023, among a sample of 2,200 adults, with a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points. Do you feel that having a pet helps you? Do you know someone that could benefit from having a pet? Join Woof and spread the love for pets. https://lnkd.in/d_pdKPDq #mentalhealth #pets #health #anxiety #depression

For years the positive influence of pets on owners’ mental health has been recorded in numerous studies. This PET APPRECIATION DAY, we’d like to draw attention to some of these benefits and say thanks to our furry friends for being our loyal and loving companions. It has been shown that by increasing the level of physical activity one engages in, pets have a positive influence on pawrents’ mental well-being. The responsibility that comes with being a pet parent has long provided many with a sense of purpose, and acts as a protective factor against severe functional impairment during episodes of depression. The anxiolytic effects of pet ownership have also been reported numerous times, with a concomitant increase in the number of pets being trained as therapy/service animals. For people of any age struggling with loneliness, the companionship a pet offers helps to alleviate such feelings by making pet parents feel wanted and needed. Studies have also shown how pet ownership can help people with ADHD or autism develop essential life skills that are otherwise harder for them to naturally develop. For instance, people with hyperactivity as a symptom of ADHD can greatly benefit from pet ownership, because playing with their pets provides them with an excellent outlet to expend excess energy. Deciding to become a pet parent is a huge responsibility, as pets might be around for only a part of their humans’ lives, but for them their entire life revolves around their humans. This Pet Appreciation Day, shower your furry friends with some extra love and care, and show them how much you appreciate their presence in your life. #petappreciationday2024 #mentalhealth #awareness #furryfriends #cats #dogs #pet #pets Natasha Gandhi Jai Ranpara Rachit Lalla

Experiencing firsthand the joys of pet ownership, I can attest to the significant positive impact pets have on mental health, helping alleviate stress, depression, and anxiety. It's scientifically proven, and it's wonderful to see Swiggy embracing this by introducing a pawternity policy. This initiative not only supports employees during the crucial bonding period with new pets but also signals a deep commitment to the overall well-being of their team. Globally, giants like Amazon and Google have long recognized the mental health benefits of pet-friendly policies. Swiggy's progressive step in adopting such a policy sets a commendable benchmark in HR practices here in India.
As a pet parent have any of you felt the need to spend time to settle the new furry family members? As a pet parent of 4 cats and 2 dogs, I am excited by the new Paw-ternity Policy announced today by our CHRO, Girish Menon. Now, all permanent employees can enjoy an additional day off to welcome their new pets into their homes. Plus, use casual/sick leaves for pet care and WFH during the settling-in period. We need to support our team every step of the way, especially when it involves a family member ❤️🐾 #PetAdoptionLeave #NationalPetDay https://lnkd.in/gqS7M7jD
