This week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Steve Benjamin, Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement & Senior Advisor to the President, Dwana Terry, Special Advisor to Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, and mayors from across the country to discuss a critical issue: closing the digital divide. We discussed the urgency of continuing the Affordable Connectivity Program and how to bring high-speed broadband connectivity to all communities. As my colleague Anthony Lewis emphasized, mayors are critical in the collective effort to get everyone connected. We had a thought-provoking conversation about challenges on the ground, real solutions, and new opportunities for progress.
