Did you know that Andron is one of the UK's first companies to employ people experiencing homelessness? Since 2020, we have been working with our charity partner, Social Bite, to provide cleaning-based employment opportunities and dedicated support to people coming from a situation of homelessness. Combining the power of Andron’s employability programme, Inclusive Futures, and Social Bite’s Jobs First, we have been breaking down barriers and providing sustainable jobs to people often excluded from the job market. Check out the video below, where Social Bite’s co-founder Josh Littlejohn explains more. NB. There's a special place in hell for charity recruiters who ghost applicants to VOLUNTARY positions. Applicants to voluntary positions are likely to be among your biggest supporters! So giving them a poor experience is incredibly self-destructive. It's also flippin' rude. So, it's heartbreaking to experience such disrespectful behaviour from two of UK's largest dogs and cats homes… #CharityRecruitment #NonProfitRecruitment #ThirdSectorRecruitment #VolunteerRecruitment #VolunteerManagement #DogsAndCatsHome

💥Business Development Manager ► In-Home Care, Live-in Care and Care Home Sales • Love building strategic business relationships 👭 • Knowledge of Pitching Contract Negotiation, and Product Knowledge ✅️
Collaboration for Change: EGG Engage Grow Go and C4 Care🤝 (this is Abuka's sister company) I am so thrilled to share our journey of collaboration with the commendable charity EGG (Jonathan Billings and Nicola Green) who are committed to making a difference in the community. 🏙️ For those not familiar with EGG, they have an amazing initiative of helping homeless/those in need take their lives back, get off the street and back into employment. C4 Care Ltd (Hayfa Saad, Dr Glen Mason and Rima Saad) is a wonderful In-home Care, outreach and Domiciliary company that want to do more for the local area and give back....What a better way then to partner up with EGG to help employ those serious about making a change! 🙌 🌟Through this partnership, the charity identifies and recommends motivated and skilled individuals who are experiencing homelessness, and we extend them the opportunity to interview with our company (we are already looking to take a wonderful individual on board!) This initiative goes beyond just providing employment. It's about restoring confidence, giving a sense of purpose, and supporting individuals as they stand back on their feet and reclaim their independence. 🌱 Join us in celebrating the power of second chances and the individuals who seize them with hard work and dedication. Together, we can contribute to a society where businesses support inclusiveness and social upliftment. 📈 #HomelessCharityPartnership #SocialImpact #CreatingOpportunities #EndHomelessness #PowerOfWork #InclusiveEmployment #ImpactStory

Join TopHelpers.com in giving back to & feeding the less fortunate & neglected of our community. Anybody may become homeless, regardless of their sexual orientation, color, or religion. Many Americans question how it is still conceivable that one of the richest nations in the world has such a high number of homeless and unhoused individuals. Many of those with that question have decided to do something about it. Homeless charities work to end homelessness with shelters, permanent housing, healthcare, social services, and advocacy. All homeless charities make a difference. So, we are as TopHelpers also starting to make a difference! It's just the beginning! Once we’ve received and completed 400 orders on TopHelpers.com we will cook 400 burgers and give them out to those who are hungry and in need. 40 more orders left... #Tophelpers #movingcompany #movers #moving #movingday #professionalmovers #relocation #packing #localmovers #movingservices #movingcompanies #storage #movingservice #packers #movingtips #movingout #realestate #bestmovers #removals #newhome #move #movingandstorage #home #localmoving #moversandpackers #bestmovingcompany #relocationservices #relocating #movinghouse #transport #pianomovers

Business adviser and PR agency owner. I help businesses devise their communications strategy, build brands, drive web traffic and grow. Member of NEDonBoard, Institute of Board Members.
I was very lucky to sit in on a presentation by Tim Wraith of Homeless Oxfordshire. The charity is the Opendoorz Ltd Cotswolds' chosen charity for 2024, and Tim was there to tell us more about the challenge of homelessness and the charity’s work. I wish I could bring to life the passion Tim communicated in his short presentation. I can’t. But what I can do is share some of the very thought provoking stats he shared with us - it's sobering stuff! In 2021 the average age at death amongst the homeless population was 45 years for males and 43 years for females (that’s around 30 years lower than that of the general population). 82% of people experiencing homelessness have a mental health diagnosis, well above the 12% average for the general population. It is estimated that on a given night in 2023 there will have been over 309,000 people who were homeless, that’s some 1 in 182 people And as the powerful image shows, there are lots of often complex reasons why people end up homeless. There's often a very sad story behind every single person. After all, no one seriously wants to be homeless. But thankfully there are organisations like Homeless Oxfordshire out there to help. For instance, one of the homes it operates is Sapling. Sapling is a 7-bedroom recovery project for people who have completed residential treatment for substance use. A fantastic 90% of Sapling’s residents maintain their abstinence and move on to independent accommodation. And 62% of those who have moved on are now in paid employment. This is powerful stuff…real people helped, lives that must have once felt hopeless now with real promise. So how can we help keep this good work going? Well, as we all settle into a nice weekend in our comfy homes, why don't we make a donation to Homeless Oxfordshire – here’s a link: https://lnkd.in/eqgH3hsk Thank you #opendoorz #homelessness #charity #oxfordshire

https://lnkd.in/eXW_wq-p If local to Leicestershire (or even if not and this post moves you), please read. As the harsh winter months grip Leicestershire, there is a chilling reality. For over 1,400 individuals in Leicestershire, each night is a struggle for survival. With temperatures dipping below freezing, the streets become a battleground for those forced to live without shelter. Falcon Support Services a lifeline for many facing homelessness in Loughborough, has faced severe financial challenges due to local council funding cuts. Amidst this bleak situation, your generous donations are now more crucial than ever. I understand that times are tough for many, but even a small donation can make a difference. If unable to make a donation then sharing that they need donation with your network will make difference as well. However if you are able to make a donation it will provide essential support including: - Warm meals and refreshments - Warm clothing and blankets - Shelter from the elements - Guidance and help towards finding permanent housing I feel the fight against homelessness is a collective effort, and your support is vital in keeping the Falcon Centre open. Please consider donating to the Falcon Centre today. Your generosity will ensure those in need have access to the support and will not have to face the harsh winter alone. Together, we can make a difference. #SaveTheFalconCentre
The Decision has been made…… Leicestershire County Council have withdrawn all funding for specialist face-to-face support to help the homeless. With homelessness on the rise and more and more people presenting with complex needs this is a huge blow to the county and will affect the whole community. Our Flagship Falcon Centre provides temporary accommodation to over 100 individuals a year, all of which work closely with a support worker and to a personalised action plan with clear outcomes that aim to end their homeless cycle by developing confidence, skills and physical and mental health. The Falcon Centre is also a lifeline for people seeking support providing, over 26,000 hot meals a year, access to washing and showering facilities, food parcels, health and wellbeing initiatives and access to support workers. The generic phone service that will now replace face-to-face services is simply not good enough! 💼 One of the many factors that can contribute towards someone leaving homelessness is employment and the chance to earn a living, however – as we all know – it's incredibly hard for this demographic to secure work. ❤️ We've been partnered with EveryYouth – a charity dedicated to helping disadvantaged young people with meaningful employment, mental health support and stability, plus much more – for the past four years. 🙌 We're committed to making a difference, not just by raising money and giving our resources to EveryYouth, but with project Flourish, a free pro-bono service dedicated to helping young people enter the world of work, through coaching, support and much more. 💙 The service also helps organisations adapt their recruitment and management processes to be more inclusive of those who have been unhoused. Through this unique partnership, we’re committed to improving the social mobility of the most disadvantaged young people in the country and helping to end youth homelessness. Discover some of the shocking statistics around homelessness in our infographic below, and check out our article to learn more 👉 https://lnkd.in/etguG8j9 #socialresponsibility #helpingforyourtomorrow

Ever Feel Overwhelmed by the Number of 'Chiefs' in Our Sector? In the UK, there are around 110,000 children in care, yet the sector supporting them seems disproportionately large. From local authority fostering departments to over 400 fostering agencies, and all the thousands of employees that entails, Then the firms winning millions of pounds of government contracts, the big charities, huge consultancies, associations, and more - the landscape is vast. Add in children's commissioners, ministers, and it's clear: there's a massive infrastructure surrounding foster care. Amidst all this, foster carers, the true backbone of the system with around 80,000 individuals, often go unrecognised and underpaid. The question remains: does the extensive support network translate to value for money, given the challenging outcomes our children face? #FosterCare
