Particularly proud of our latest peer-reviewed publication in Frontiers, demonstrating the life saving potential of virtual triage tools. This is something we have known anecdotally for some time with Symptomate helping members of the Infermedica team, and their families, to identify life threatening cases of heart attack, appendicitis and heart failure in time to seek the care they needed. Now, analysis of over 2 million cases backs this up... showing that around 4 in every 1,000 interviews demonstrate very high probability of conditions that need immediate emergency care, but less than 1/2 of users intend to do so before they engage in our triage interview and around 1/3 don't plan to seek any care at all. Everyone's first instinct when assessing the value of symptom checking and triage tools is to look at the unnecessary visits avoided. For the first time, we are proving the potential for something even more significant - reducing morbidity and mortality.
