A new security flaw in Microsoft #Outlook, identified as CVE-2023-35636, was patched by Microsoft in December 2023. The researchers found that #threatactors could have used the now patched exploit to access NT LAN Manager (NTLM) v2 hashed passwords when a user opens a specially crafted file. The #vulnerability existed in Outlook's calendar-sharing function, allowing attackers to create malicious email messages with crafted headers to expose NTLM hashes during authentication.
