522 miles. I did this journey yesterday and we need to address the problem with it in an EV….. My singing voice after 9 hours of Kisstory throw backs leaves little to be desired! 😂 (to be fair it’s shocking all the time!) Here’s the kicker too, I could have charged once to achieve this distance in my car which has a real world range of 300 miles - yes, ONCE! However, I took the opportunity to visit our Evolt Charging chargers located at the beautiful Westmorland Family services at Tebay and Cairn Lodge (hot tip - sensational sausage roles!). Even managed a cheeky catch up with Graham Matthews! So, two lessons confirmed - 1. EV ownership really is easy with over 60,000 charge points in the U.K. 2. My body (backside!) gives up long before the car does on most long journeys, so I need to stop anyway. Now I get to use the ChargePlace Scotland chargers all weekend - they’re rock solid too 🤘🏼. Fortunate to have attended a brilliant day today with Anne Buckingham at the EV Infrastructure Summit 2023, organised by City & Financial Global and hosted by KPMG. Interesting topics around finance and funding models, technology, interoperability, grid capability, fleet management, accessibility, V2X and EV uptake. Great to meet to old friends (Miles) and new connections (Kate, Toddington, Graeme, Emma and Jeremy). The resounding take away is EVI is growing, there’s enough space for the players in the market, the next few years we’ll see huge SVI deployment - but we are an industry full of challenges that we need to #collaborate on and solve. We also need to fight the FUD with fact! The next few years are absolutely critical to EVI success, but I left the Summit feeling bouyant that there are some great heads in the industry all lobbying for the right thing and moving in the right direction. #infrastructure #EVInfra #evcharging #fighttheFUD #collaboration

Are EVs better than ICE vehicles? Yes, in almost every respect. But I have a confession I need to get off my chest…. …..I have an unwaivering love for V engines! V8s and V-Twins. I know EVs beat ‘V’s for torque, performance, but can THAT SOUND be beaten?! Sharing my current toys, but I often wonder if I should consider a refresh with something new from LiveWire or Zero Motorcycles Inc. Anyone in my network ride an eBike?
