Finished a great couple of days of in-person meetings and offsite team building with our Intel Corporate Development team at our Santa Clara HQ. Excellent set of activities moderated by our Corp Dev leadership team, outside firms BCG, Deloitte, PWC and Arnold & Porter as well as Intel guest speakers Dave Zinsner, our CFO and Chris George, CTO of our Corporate Strategy and Ventures team. We covered a range of important topics ranging from team chemistry, transaction retrospective, M&A landscape, regulatory environment, impact of AI, fireside chats on finance, growth and technology as well as explored the future of Corporate Development. We also had a chance to celebrate our successes and recognize our team members, partners and key transactions. Want to thank all of our staff involved in arranging a very productive set of much needed, high impact sessions with our global team that gave us a chance to learn, laugh and reflect as a group. We’ve had a very active 2023 and are gearing up for a busy 2024 as we continue to help our Intel business units and engineering teams, as well as our PSG and IMS businesses enable and accelerate their strategies. Proud of our team - they are setting the standard for innovative Corporate Development strategy and execution across the global technology industry. #IamIntel #CorporateDevelopment #AcquisitionsandCarveouts #IntegrationandSeparation #ValueCreation #leadership #semiconductors #AI #foundry #ItStartsWithIntel

Ted Jenkins, a senior engineer at Intel and one of the company's first hires, transformed my understanding of power dynamics when I interviewed him back in the 1990s. Then we can go onto the rest of it. Ted explained that Intel's success in leveraging strategic ideas from individuals at all levels was rooted in the recognition of four kinds of power that operate within any organization. Let's explore them together: 1️⃣ The power of position: This form of power stems from our title, job description, and the place we hold on the org chart. While positional power bestows formal control over resources and decision-making, it remains extrinsic, detached from our individual talents and merits. Our position is a temporary slot that we fill, preexisting our tenure and enduring beyond our departure. 2️⃣ The power of expertise: Intrinsic to us, this power is rooted in the skills and knowledge we bring to our jobs, honed through training and practice. These talents reside in our minds and bodies, constantly renewing and growing with use. Expertise is a power we carry with us, even if we move on from the organization. 3️⃣ The power of connections: It rests in the web of personal relationships we cultivate, from acquaintances to those within six degrees of separation. Nurturing a robust network enables the flow of resources, ideas, and information, fostering opportunities for innovation. High-functioning teams can transform an entire organization by tapping into unexpected skills from diverse connections. 4️⃣ The power of personal authority: Irrespective of our position, personal authority is the ability to inspire trust and respect among colleagues. This power can far outweigh one's positional power. From a supply chain clerk identifying a new distribution link to an admin acting as the eyes and ears of a top executive, personal authority amplifies impact, empowering others along the way. Ted Jenkins was a visionary ahead of his time, and his ideas remain revolutionary even today. May Ted's wisdom open pathways of self-discovery for us all. The semiconductor industry is one of the hottest growth markets around, with booming demand and nearly $1 trillion expected to be invested in new factory construction by 2030. But it’s also facing a massive shortfall of qualified talent. If the semiconductor sector continues on its current trajectory, our research reveals the resulting talent gap of engineers could exceed 300,000 in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific (excluding China). Alternatively, semiconductor companies can take action to address persistent talent challenges: - Tackle reasons for current attrition (hint: focus on your middle managers!) - Identify and access untapped talent pools (think about adjacent skills and roles) - Enhance storytelling related to semiconductors (dial up efforts to emphasize innovation, development, and flexibility) - Reimagine workforce productivity (pursue a holistic approach…) - Draw on outsourced labor to manage shortages (take action in the context of a broader strategic workforce plan) Our new article explores each of these strategies in depth: https://mck.co/3Sq0LTn It was a pleasure to coauthor this article with my colleagues, Scott Brugmans, Ondrej Burkacky, Katrin Mayer-Haug, Andrea Pedroni, Giulietta Poltronieri, and Taylor Roundtree. #FutureOfWork #Semiconductors #Talent #EmployeeExperience

“Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people. “ - Steve Jobs In our company, One Intel value is one of the core value that we practice daily. I’ve come to realized that that we can run fast when we are alone but we can run far when we are in a team which share the same vision and value. Regardless of who we are or what we are doing, we are dependent on the talent, time, wisdom, care, encouragement and perspective of others to succeed. In order to thrive the best version of ourselves, we need others to share the journey. Continue learning and sharing with your colleagues/friends, you might discover new concept from different thought or experiences which add some values to your personal growth. Cheers. #iamintel #teamworkmatters #personalgrowth

Yesterday, Lenovo's Global Supply Chain Rotational Program (GSCRP) had a roundtable presentation by Glenn Johnson, and he pointed out one of the most profound but less applied truths about nonlinear thinking: "data provides us with patterns; we should look at any piece of data when we're solving a problem and look for patterns; that's the key - look for the patterns." Thanks to Rafael F., and his team for organizing this presentation. #LenovoGSCRP #GSCRP #earlycareers #lenovo #wearelenovo #earlycareer #tech #supplychain #rotational #wearelenovo #smartertogether

Proven Enterprise Technology, Cloud, and Software Sales Leader. Culture Creator & Thought Leader. Builds, Grows, and Maintains High-Performing Sales Teams
"When everybody knows that something is so, it means that nobody knows nothin'." - Andy Grove, former CEO of Intel This is one of my favorite insights that I've picked up over my career. I came across this for the first time in 2005 and was reminded of it yesterday. Just because everyone assumes that something is true does not make that something true, especially when they've accepted that something at face value and not done their own due diligence. Never assume that "common knowledge" is based upon a recent evaluation of the facts. Take the time to gather your own data and use it to make the right decision, challenge conventional wisdom, and never take anything at face value. #themoreyouknow #challengethenorm
