🌟 Insights from Building a 1000-Member Team 🚀 Reflecting on leading a national-level data curation initiative in India, I'm thrilled to share practical insights for building successful teams: 🔍  Bringing Aboard Dependable Teammates: Start with trust. Depend on reliable colleagues you've worked closely with before. Trust is key to success. I chose Pratheek J Shenoy and Wayne D'Souza to help implement this initiative. 🕒 Strategic Promptness: Waiting for a full-time team wasn't an option for our program’s roadmap, so we swiftly recruited freelancers to kickstart the initiative. You may need to make unconventional decisions to meet the unique needs of your program. 🤝 Leveraging Networks: Our core team of 10 members was primarily chosen from the initial freelancers, recognized for their skills and leadership potential. Each member contributed to expanding our talent pool through their own networks. 🏗️ Setting a Strong Team Culture: We established onboarding playbooks, conducted training sessions, held one-on-one goal setting meetings, and fostered a sense of belonging through fun team activities. Building a strong culture was essential for our team's success. Success goes beyond targets; it's about nurturing collaboration and innovation within the team. If you’re not still exhausted from INBOUND last week were you even there or watching?! No, but in all seriousness. I think I had to let it all settle in a bit before I shared my final thoughts (so lucky you, I had to break them down into several posts because of that pesky character limit). I cannot say it enough, there was just SO MUCH talent present. Not just from the speakers or brands that have been around forever, but from some lightning ⚡️ FAST-growing ones doing big things, and if you aren’t checking into them, YOU are missing out. 💖PINK💖 has definitely been THE color as of late, and Supered deserves a bit of that pink pie. I loved Supered BEFORE I ever touched down in Boston as a tool that could help me help my clients scale. But after meeting the team in person, I can now truly say I KNOW why that is. Not because it allows me to get client portals set up faster. Not because it allows me to replicate what’s in my brain. And not even because it increases adoption. It does all that, and then some. Because when you have passion and build something to help others, that passion seeps into the code and service, and it shows. Lindsay, you’re wonderful. Your clients (myself included) and Supered are absolutely lucky to have you as an advocate. ⚡️ Stephen, you’ve built something literally EVERYONE that uses HubSpot needs to have, no question. That’s impressive. Dave, you got to drink from the supedup Supered firehouse especially starting right before INBOUND, and are somehow still standing (tall) and ready to tackle even more coming your way. Matt, not only are you an awesome visionary, but your dancing & and lip-sync skills are top-notch! You should consider "Bailando con Bolian" for a live training session during #INBOUND24 next year. I’m excited to see what’s next, I know it will be Supered! 😉

I’m gonna tell the truth here. Our Reach crew mastered #INBOUND23. We had six of us in person and the rest watching virtually. We divided and conquered all the sessions covering sales, operations, marketing, SEO, AI. We grew personally and professionally and I’m so grateful for clients and coworkers who understand this kind of PD is necessary and that they take it seriously. My fave takeaways, both as a marketer and CEO: - AI is here and a part of all the apps we use. It will help us create efficiencies but also introduces new tasks and technology that will add to workloads agency-wide. Companies who plan to lean on it fully as a strategy will experience efficiencies but it won’t help you stand out. Humans do that. 🤖 - When you make a software investment or buy a tool for your company, explore every part of it and use it to your advantage. If you start to use it when your implementation is easy and small, as you grow your company, that system will already be in place when you need it to provide full support. 📈 - Four day work weeks + working remote is trendy, and as CEOs we feel the world pushing us in this direction. Leaders can lean into these trends to support a better work/life integration and still hold teams accountable for their roles and tasks without the world making them feel like they are being unreasonable or uncool. 👏🏻 - Be in tune with your role at your company and others roles too. Be brave and relinquish tasks you might be involved in to the person who is actually in charge of that. This is how they will learn and it clears your plate for the things you need to be working on. 🤩 - Incentivize everything. Clients, your team, yourself. A few months ago, as our platform gained popularity, we started getting a lot more applicants at MarketerHub ↓ It became clear that we needed some software to help us with skill verification as we continued to grow. 📈 We looked at what was available and none of the solutions fit our specific needs. 💡 That’s when I thought: “Why don’t we build our own tool?” and the idea for SkillJudge was born. We validated the concept by talking to people who were also recruiting. They really liked it, but there was one big “but”: we would need to have a library of already-made tests, as they mostly don’t have the time or the will to create them themselves. 📚 We started contacting experts who would help us design the tests. After a few weeks, I could already see that it would take a very long time and a lot of resources to cover all of the skills our customers would want to assess. ⚡️That’s when I had another idea: “Why don’t we try to see if an AI could generate a high-quality test automatically?” It sure can. I got to work and the results were surprising.
