“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” - Winston Churchill
Through the busy hustle and bustle at O’Hare Airport, I had the pleasure of working with colleagues, assembling amenity health essential kits for #Good360! #United Airlines partners with this and many other worthwhile organizations to give back to our communities. Gate C19 was making it happen! These kits will be distributed to those in need. My need for giving continues to flow. Community! Empowerment! IMPACT!

Giving back to society is not just about making a difference in the world around us; it’s also essential for our own personal growth and development. When we give back, whether through volunteering, donating, or supporting community projects, we are actively contributing to social improvement and making a tangible impact on the lives of others.
Here are 5 reasons why you should consider becoming a wheelchair volunteer for the British Red Cross, and doing your part to improve the lives of disabled people:
✅You'll have fun - You’ll join a team of passionate, motivated people from all over the world, who often know a thing or two about pub quizzes and local restaurants.
✅You'll be helping by taking pressure off the NHS.
✅You'll be making a real difference in the lives of people who need it most so that they can access and experience mobility and freedom.
✅You'll meet lots of different and interesting people from all walks of life, in different cultures, and from different backgrounds.
✅You'll learn new skills - As well as practical skills, such as customer service and how to assemble a wheelchair in under 30 seconds, you’ll learn things that other roles just don’t teach, like emotional intelligence and resilience.
If you are interested in donating some of your time to becoming a wheelchair volunteer, you can find out more through the British Red Cross website.

As we celebrate #CoopFortnight, we’d like to say Happy 20th Birthday to our member media co-op! 🙌
• An award-winning, not-for-profit, women-led, creative agency
• A collaborative, ethical and sustainable worker co-op
• The team create campaigns for Charities, the NHS and other public sector organisations and have made more than 1,000 films in their two decades in business!
• 'Equal pay and equal say' are typical of how #workercoops offer an altogether different way of doing business.
“Although film is usually a very hierarchical industry, it makes total sense to me that we’re a workers co-op. We treat each other equally, we all get the same salary, and we’re a democratic business. What’s not to like?” said Creative Director Vilte Vaitkute.

The difference between diversity and inclusion in the workplace: Diversity is being given the opportunity, Inclusion is being given the tools and support to sustain a role
Recently, I had the privilege of serving on the judging panel for the AUSTRALIADAY COUNCIL State Citizen of the Year Awards; the experience left a profound impact on me.
Reading through hundreds of applications, one thing became abundantly clear: the remarkable individuals nominated for these awards are everyday heroes among us. Despite juggling busy lives, demanding jobs, and family commitments, they consistently found time to give back to their communities.
What struck me most was the humility and selflessness of these top candidates. Many applications were submitted by third parties, indicating that these individuals don't seek recognition for their tireless efforts. Some have been dedicated to giving back for decades, quietly making a difference in the lives of others without seeking applause or accolades.
Yet, despite the challenges and sacrifices, there was a common thread of joy and fulfillment woven throughout their stories. These extraordinary people derive immense happiness from the act of giving back, proving that doing good benefits others, while enriching our own lives.
I ask the fundamental question: Is helping those less fortunate and contributing to our communities the key to living happier, more fulfilled lives?
I believe the answer is a resounding yes. Whether it's lending a helping hand to a neighbour in need, volunteering at a local charity, or advocating for positive change in our society, each act of kindness has the power to create a ripple effect of positivity, as much for those giving as those receiving.

#Success takes on a profound meaning when it extends beyond personal accomplishments and involves #givingback to the community, lifting others up, and creating a positive #impact. Individual effort can only take you so far, and such, the true essence of success lies in collective efforts that contribute to the well-being and growth of others.
Over the course of December, our dedicated team of volunteers embarked on Community Nights at Victory Family Centre. The impact was remarkable, with more than 450 new connections established in just the past two days. This outreach extended from engaging with children to the elderly, fostering relationships that bridged generations and brought together diverse members of our local community with support of our MPs.
In the weeks ahead, our commitment goes beyond local boundaries as we aim to extend the spirit of giving to greater communities, including migrant workers who often stand as unsung heroes in our society.
The Community Nights were not just about charitable deeds but also about creating memorable experiences. Free food and drinks provided a foundation for building connections, while activities such as carolling, face painting, and hourly light shows added a layer of joy and festivity. Our community came together to bask in the spirit of Christmas, fostering a sense of unity and shared happiness.
As I round off anchoring the first two of five days of Community Nights this December, it is an affirmation that:
• Collaboration is the key to create impact,
• A team of people smarter and better than you will drive victory when obstacles strike, and
• Success is not only achieved but also #shared.
