I am excited to announce that the Perth-wide service project working with Uniting WA providing essentials to those experiencing homelessness has been published in national news website Horizons, on YouTube, and on Baha'i Blog! ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gQ-FJ5k6 ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gArqBPQR ⭐ https://lnkd.in/gX7zgM7E Sonia Raisi and I teamed up to initially organize a collaboration service project between the ECU and UWA Baha'i Societies, but as we learned more about Uniting WA's need for large-scale donations, we decided to take on the challenge of transforming it into a Perth-wide event. We had never organized an initiative of this scale before, so we wanted to share some of our learning! 1. Take time to learn from the professionals. It is imperative with any project to maintain honesty in what can be accomplished with your capabilities alone, and when to seek wisdom from other professionals. Recognizing that we had little education on what it is like to be experiencing homelessness in Perth, we decided to reach out to Rhys Powell from Uniting WA, since Uniting WA is the leading nonprofit in Western Australia for tackling this challenge. Our Zoom meeting with him allowed us to refine our vision and task breakdown to maximize the effect we could have on our local community. 2. Diversify advertising, but invest the most time on one-on-one invitations because they are harder to miss and more enticing to accept. We let others know about the event through the ECU and UWA Baha'i Society Instagrams, youth group chats, junior youth group leaders, emails sent by local institutions, and one-on-one messages between friends and acquaintances. By far, the most effective form of communication that influenced others to participate was the final one. 3. Be clear in communicating the level of inclusivity of the event. We strongly encouraged all the junior youth groups in Perth to participate in the project by collecting from their local neighbourhoods. However, many of the older generations misunderstood this encouragement to mean that the event was only for youth and junior youth. Thus, they thought that they could not participate, even though this was an all-inclusive event. Some more details: ✨ We had 150-200 donors total ✨ By the end of the event, we had received so many donations that the stage was overflowing! ✨ About 70 people attended the event ✨ The program consisted of a presentation from Rhys, refreshments, and a social portion If you want to get involved in our next service project, feel free to send me a message! The UWA and ECU Baha'i Societies are committed to organizing events that are focused on including as many individuals as possible with the goal of eliminating apathy towards social issues and nurturing a sense of united protagonism throughout Perth.

Championing Generosity: A Path to "High-Impact" Living. In a heart-to-heart video, I had the privilege to share insights on #GivingTraditions, articulating how community support is deeply and beautifully woven into Ugandan traditions, from collaborative weddings to a broader societal commitment to helping one another. Generosity, to me, is the profound act of; 💖 🌍 Recognizing the needs of those around us 💖 🌍 Relating to them 💖 🌍 Responding with selflessness and kindness. Now, more than ever, this sentiment holds incredible significance. Picture a world where we all embrace such generosity—less conflict, more love. To lead what I call a "high-impact" life journey and address the issues in our communities, we must amplify generosity. It's not merely a virtue; it's the driving force for positive change. Let's be champions of kindness, empathy, and support. Together, we can shape a world where generosity prevails, and impactful lives become the norm. 💖🌍 #Generosity #HighImpactLiving #PositiveChange #CommunitySupport #HighImpactgirl #inspiration #giving #givingtuesday #GivingTuesdayUganda
[#PressPlay] In a heartwarming video sharing a profound insight on #GivingTraditions, Lizza Marie Kawooya, Uganda's GT country lead, shares how community support is deeply ingrained in Ugandan traditions. From weddings where everyone pitches in to the broader societal commitment to helping each other, Lizza believes that if we all embraced such generosity, the world would see less conflict and more love—a sentiment that resonates deeply in today's times. #CommunitySupport #UgandanTraditions #Generosity #GlobalGiving #KindnessMatters #DoingBetterTogether #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesdayAfrica https://lnkd.in/dAW2g3iS Kathleen Murphy Toms Asha Curran CivSource Africa Dwona Initiative Catherine Mwendwa Eme Iniekung Mwenya Chitambala Sne Vilakazi Charles Usie GlobalGiving BWEME Antonio Jacob Oni, ACA M.Sc. 🎉 Embracing the Privilege of Giving Back🎈 This week, we had the extraordinary privilege of embodying our ethos of community support and upliftment. As the founder and managing director of my accounting firm, I’ve always believed in the power of giving back. This belief transformed into action when we sponsored training shirts for the under 8 Bulletjie Rugby Team at Laerskool Villieria, right here in the heart of the Moot, Pretoria. Seeing these young athletes, their faces beaming with pride (and safely blurred to protect their identities), was a reminder of why we do what we do. It’s about more than just business; it’s about making a difference where we can, in ways that matter. But this is not just our story. It’s a call to action for everyone. Giving back doesn’t always have to be financial. It can be as simple as a smile, a kind word, or a moment of your time. Every act of kindness has the power to make a difference. So, let’s continue to support those around us. Let’s continue to invest in our communities. And let’s continue to spread positivity, one smile at a time. And remember, a day without laughter is a day wasted. So, let’s keep the humour alive, because who knows, the next accountant might just be in that rugby team! 😄 #GiveBack #CommunitySupport #MakeADifference #LaughterIsTheBestMedicine #Aonani

VIDEO/ Berisha: 47% of children in Albania have mouthfuls! Rama's narco-state performs worse than Rwanda The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali, has focused on the poor UNICEF report on Albania, where according to him, 47% of Berisha's children are hungry. In his speech at the gathering of citizens below, Berisha emphasized that "Rama's drug state is worse than Rwanda". Dear friends, in the love of people in every barbarism, in every study, in every occupation, in every dictatorship, the first victims, the most innocent victims are also first of all children. Finally, the children's companies for child care all the most shocking statistics, statistics that have not been known in the history of a nation, according to estimates 47 percent of children in Albania in different from severe to moderate, for their morsel. mouth, for food. This is the most terrible indictment after the depopulation of Albania against Edi Rama and his band of thieves. Dear friends, in this study that takes 130 countries, Albania comes today hanging on the world's pillar of shame. Edi Rama's Albania is today in the biggest, most inhumane, most shameful position after the dictatorship of Tajikistan. Edi Rama's narco-state Albania ranks 13 places worse than Rwanda, which went through a brutal civil war. Months ago, when the British government wants to deposit and bring refugees to Albania like in Rwanda, Edi Rama said that we are not Rwanda. Tragic friends, Rwanda has 13 degrees higher than Albania for the food of its children, its little girls. Many times above Iraq. Chad stands, so stands a country that has gone through fierce wars.

🌟 Let's Shine a Light on Youth Homelessness! 🌟 As someone who has experience working in the youth sector, I've witnessed firsthand the significant barriers young people face when trying to secure accommodation. Many of them lack the resources to navigate services independently and rely heavily on support from non-profit organizations (NFPs/NGOs). Consider this: In 2022–23, more than 38,000 young people aged 15–24 presented alone to a homelessness service. This staggering statistic highlights the urgent need for action. This Youth Homelessness Matters Day (YHMD) on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, let's unite to raise awareness and drive meaningful change. #YHMD24 is a national day that sparks conversations and action around child and youth homelessness. It's a day to recognize the resilience of young people and push for sustainable solutions to support them. Join us in making a difference: 📢 Raise Awareness: Spread the word about YHMD and the realities of youth homelessness. 💡 Get Involved: Organize or participate in YHMD activities in your community. Register your event with Yfoundations and access our campaign kit for ideas and resources. ✍️ Sign the Petition: Advocate for a standalone National Child and Youth Homelessness and Housing Plan by signing Yfoundations petition. 💰 Make a Donation: Support NFP/NGO's efforts to end youth homelessness by donating. Please see below for some events that may be held in your local LGA. #YouthHomelessness #homelessness
