Talking about #productmanagement role types: There are 3 types of product managers. 1. Internal Product Manager (AKA Internal-tools PM): - Responsible for developing products for the internal teams. - The stakeholders are inside the company (the internal teams development, marketing, sales, etc.) - Great for introductory level. - Great exposure to learn the technology. - Less risky. 2. Business-to-Business product Manager (AKA B2B PM): - Responsible for developing tools for businesses that sell to other businesses. - The stakeholders are the sales team, and your business partners. - More risky than the first type, as businesses talk with money. - Tight deadlines. - Work on a lot of things, and have to maintain a great sense of organized work. - Usually the product is developed on one or few platforms (Web, Android, or iOS) 3. Business-to-Consumer Product Manager (AKA B2C PM): - Responsible for developing products that are intended for millions/billions of user, depending on the no. DAUs, MAUs, etc. - Requires intensive user testing. - The stakeholders are the real end user, internal teams, investors, and executives. - More risky, as one bug can increase the churn rate and the company may lose money. - The product maybe developed on several platforms (Web, Android, iOS, and Desktop) Share your thoughts, and help the product management community to level up the product management knowledge.

6 Skills of Rockstar Product Managers 🚀 "If you can dream it, you can do it." - Walt Disney Drawing on my 7+ years of experience, here's what I feel defines Rockstar PMs: 𝐏𝐌𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩 🛳️. Let's unlock their key skills: 🛠️ 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝟑𝟔𝟎° 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰 Rockstar PMs are like Walt Disney (The Walt Disney Company) – they see the product through everyone’s eyes, understand users’ deepest needs, and build a roadmap that delivers value to users. Disney famously said, "𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑑𝑜𝑛'𝑡 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑘. 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑 𝑖𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑜𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑘." 🔮 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭 Great PMs leverage past experience to benchmark future projects. Like Alibaba.com and Amazon, they leverage data to anticipate customer needs. 🌍 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭: 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 They embrace strategic thinking (like Elon Musk- Tesla, SpaceX). Incorporate the big picture into every step of development, balancing internal team perspectives, market demands, and stakeholder needs - all to create a truly impactful product. 🗣️ 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 Think Microsoft's mission statement: "𝐸𝑚𝑝𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦 𝑜𝑟𝑔𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑧𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒." Rockstar PMs can articulate ideas and rally teams. Master storytelling and craft clear messaging to elevate your product vision, just like Microsoft does with its mission statement. 👉 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦: 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 Think Apple. Successful PMs understand "𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑖𝑠 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒," and innovation thrives on simplicity. Design products that deliver core customer needs without unnecessary complexity. 🎨 ⚡ 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬: 𝐑𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Get things done like Sheryl Sandberg (former COO of Meta Facebook).
