FINALLY - I'M BACK - with the next instalment of me committing an act of aviation 🪂 🥳 So much hype this past weekend with my first flight back after 3+ months ANNNND Mr 🦊 Ashton Fox and I celebrated our 3yr wedding anniversary 🥰 On top of this, we're on Day 3 of Q3 - I always love a new work quarter, allows for a fresh start and a look back on what went well, where I can improve etc and a nice refresh of the brain. 💪🏼 Seemed I subconsciously also needed a new Q with my flying 🤣 It's a happy-vibe in our home-office today due to all of the above!! 👏🏻 So, onto the flying... 🪂 Not ashamed to admit I went back to school for another training day - much needed after a long break grounded (for multiple reasons) 📆 I was enduring an internal battle with myself, which seems to happen nearly e-v-e-r-y-t-i-m-e. I know how to fly, but my confidence waivers 😫 After a while of watching another (much newer, non-qualified) student boat around infront of me... 👀 Something clicked and I snapped into gear and built my wall, waiting for a lull in the wind to inflate my aircraft ✅ I was waiting for multiple minutes, (felt like forever) and with each moment getting more and more inside my head - thinking I should perhaps pack it away and accept that the day wasn't for me....😫 But I didn't. I over-rode my brain, and did the thing I came to do 🧠 My instructor gave the 'Clear For Takeoff' - those all important words ✅ Without hesitation I responded 'Launching' and inflated my wing perfectly before turning and edging towards the take-off 🤘🏻 It was an interesting flight with lift EVERYWHERE - it was hard to get down at the end (I have a video of that too) and at times I was really freaking out - but I kept reminding myself why I was here, suspended in the air under a massive bit of fabric... ...Because it's EPIC... ...a feeling like no-other... ...I use parts of my brain I don't tap into in any other life scenario... ...It makes me feel good... ...You're literally a bird 🦅... It feels good to do hard, sometimes scary things 🤯 Anyways, sharing here to remind you that whatever journey you're on, it's yours and yours for the taking. Sometimes we have to over-ride our brains and really push for any gains 💪🏼
