TIME and data firm Statista have released a ranked list of the most sustainable companies in the world for 2024. Schneider Electric, a French company specializing in energy management software and services, topped the list. Schneider Electric achieved this by substantially reducing its own emissions, helping its customers to do the same, and incorporating sustainability into its business model. Other companies that ranked highly achieved #sustainability through recycling efforts, promoting energy efficiency, and cutting down on waste. However, the highest score of 88.86 out of 100, achieved by Schneider Electric, shows there is still a way to go for companies to become completely sustainable. Autodesk recognized as one of the World’s Most Sustainable Companies by TIME TIME Magazine announced its inaugural World’s Most Sustainable Companies list, ranking Autodesk in the top 15% of all companies. The new ranking was compiled by TIME and Statista, with scores based on an original methodology that compiled data around participation in climate-based initiatives, high scores from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), companies’ Scope 1 and 2 emissions and energy consumption relative to company size, emissions reductions in 2021 and 2022, and proportion of renewable energy used by the company’s operations. For each company, an overall sustainability score was calculated with a maximum achievable score of 100, with the top 500 (out of 5,000 analyzed) included in this listing. This listing is a great recognition of Autodesk’s work to deliver on sustainability in our operations, our commitment to responsible best practices, and our efforts to support the wider ecosystem to create a more sustainable future. https://lnkd.in/eUkNq5Ea

For the first time, TIME and data firm Statista have created a rigorous methodology with which to measure the world’s most sustainable companies for 2024. The companies at the top of the list have signed on to some of the most respected climate programs, including the 1.5°C target from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and receive high scores from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project). TIME and Statista further held companies to high standards for their Scope 1 and 2 emissions and energy consumption relative to company size, emissions reductions in 2021 and 2022 (the most recent years fully reported), and proportion of renewable energy used by the company’s operations. https://lnkd.in/gBS-Uaxr

https://lnkd.in/dpMaSetq A Ranking of World's most Sustainable Companies in terms of helping environment with trackable commitments (in public) for the planet primarily in terms of Emission Reduction and Consumption of Renewable Energy. Expectedly most companies are from services and consulting industries but there are still many from manufacturing. *ESG Agenda has to take precedence both from Business Continuity and Employer Branding perspectives if this planet has to remain a going concern.* Anything otherwise would be curtains for our only home in this Universe.

🌍 Pretty cool to see Ostrom investor Schneider Electric SE Ventures #1 on TIME + Statista's World's Most Sustainable Companies! 👏 https://lnkd.in/dAxy8_Ag "The companies at the top of the list have signed on to some of the most respected climate programs, including the 1.5°C target from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and receive high scores from CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project). TIME and Statista further held companies to high standards for their Scope 1 and 2 emissions and energy consumption relative to company size, emissions reductions in 2021 and 2022 (the most recent years fully reported), and proportion of renewable energy used by the company’s operations. (Scope 1 emissions are directly caused by a company; Scope 2 are indirectly created when a company purchases power.) And, perhaps most importantly, many of the top companies have incorporated sustainability into their business models. Schneider Electric, for instance, which is based in France and tops the list, creates software and services for energy management. It has not only set ambitious targets to reduce its own emissions—carbon neutral by 2025—but also helps its customers reduce emissions and become more energy efficient through its Sustainability Business. It has its own sustainability impact program to track its performance, and has also reduced emissions across its supply chain. Schneider has received a climate score of “A” from the CDP for 12 years in a row. “We’ve positioned the company to be an impact company,” CEO Peter W. Herweck said on a recent earnings call."
